If man evolved from monkey's and apes, why do we still have monkey's and apes?

LOL. I believe we evolved from an ape like species but are not directly linked to the species we have today. I remember not too long ago watching a series about evolution and apparently there were 2 species of 'apes'. Both had the ability to evolve into human like form but one of these species became extinct in favour of the other more monkey like creatures which are where we are from originally. So they say.

i dont believe we evolved from apes or monkeyz ( with all due respect to them... they are the sweetest thingz around) but im sorry they arent my ancestorz 🙂... i dont believe in the BIG BANG theory either....

our DNA doesnt prove we come from apes and monkeyz at all... YES it does however show that we do share some of our DNA with other primates . All types of animals are related to each other some more closely, some more distantly.

James, recent studies have shown that the difference between human and chimp DNA is not a mere 1 or 2 percent but at least 15 percent.

Chimpanzees have 24 pairs of chromosomes and humans have 23 pairs, so there is a definite discontinuity. Human genes are also arranged differently compared to chimps. Neither human nor chimp DNA has been fully sequenced. Human DNA will probably be sequenced within the next two years, but chimp DNA has a much lower priority, and so will be completed much later. Until they are both fully sequenced, a proper comparison cannot be made.

And BTW James DNA similarity does not PROVE evolution. There are reasons why chimp and human DNA are similar, and they would be even if evolution were not true. Why? Because DNA contains the information that controls the DEVELOPMENT of an organism. Therefore, if two organisms look similar, the DNA should also be similar, by definition. Many of the similarities between humans and chimps exist simply because the skeletons are similar.

Somethin' else to keep in mind is that all life on earth contains similar DNA to an extent. If this were not so, life would not be possible. For how could one organism digest another if they were fundamentally different biochemically? Every organism must take in nutrients from other organisms, and if the amino acids, sugars, etc. were different, digestion would be impossible.

and BTW evolution is a man-made theory, Darwin came up with it... and it doesnt neccesarily mean itz TRUE...

ALL the animals on this earth, including humans, share the same basic type of DNA - WHY?? coz we are created from the dust of THIS earth... and God used 'earth materials' to make all his LIVING creations 😛

i Totally agree with u on that coz YES men wrote the 'Bible'( though itz my personal belief that God inspired men to write it but thatz just MY belief)......

Little liza you need to evolve, you see 60,000 years ago in aficra there was a man who DNA proves was the first trouly human. we are all decendents of him so you have your adam. look it up on the national geographic web page its under the geneographic project you may find it interestiing.

but if u really think about it from christainity's point of view... it cant be Adam coz Adam - the first man on this earth - lived 4000 B.C 🙂

According to Christianity this earth is only 6000 years old... however, some theologians believe that God didn't create this earth out of nothing.. he organized it and took materials from other planets ( GOd himself said 'Earths without numbers have i created'..) and so maybe the DNA that was found of this man who lived 60,000 years ago was from another earth like ours 😛 —?? u never know....
