Yeah I like him very much: he cares about ordinary people and that is what matters. In the past as we all know the Catholic church has often done a lot of crap but surely this guy brings hope. I have often thought of becoming a Catholic myself (raised Anglican or Episcopalian as you would know it) and this (he) may help. The reason I like Catholics so much is that I have been out of work a lot in my life (recently diagnosed with Asperger's which at least partly explains that) and I have found that unlike most other people Catholics don't treat me/haven't treated me like I am some kind of a leper because of this. I was discussing Catholicism recently with a guy I know who is a Catholic and I said that one thing I like about Catholics is that they don't seem to particularly "evangelise" as some Christians do (try to hassle or pressurise you): he said that their way of evangelising is to set an good example (of compassion etc.) and to influence people that way and I said that that is exactly as it should be. Apart from anything else I find that Catholics are noticeably more charitable and generous than Protestants (both materially and emotionally) and it is said that generosity is the mother of all the virtues. And it varies but I do find that on the whole Catholics tend to be happy people so they must have something going for them.
