Questions for Christians...

Nobody understand the bible, it is something mythical and belongs to people who wants to believe in it, you can believe in S.Hawkings (the universe) or (Mahabharata) both are the same and nothing is accurate and for sure?if it is stick with your soul and calm you down in this chaos, then that?s the one to follow and nothing else matter in my opinion.
Jesus was Jew and still is Jew (last time I?ve checked), the Christianity is oppositional belief system that rose against the stupidity of Jews at that time for worshiping the God and Jesus was a rebel/martyr that they used him for the revolution against the Jew?s high priests. In fact there is a doubt that he never existed..! If you read the bible you never see a trace of person called Jesus but a myth and what have been said (according to the disciples) like Mohammad or Moses, those books ?bible, Koran, Torah? is full of (what the others says about their prophet?s actions from their point of view.. not a solid facts).?..nobody can claim that they are JEW, it is the belief system that separate peoples from one another, beside the JEW belief system is belong to much older system rose from (Babylonian believes) say 6-8000 years before even Moses or Jehovah shows up?!! So the root of that religion is much, much deeper than anyone else could imagine.
About those reptiles ?.according to science?they?ve been discovered only 150+ years ago..!! Now the question is? where the hell they?ve been hiding so long..?? They are also under the questions my friend !! 50,000 years of humanity and nobody mention those lizards until 150 years ago?.don?t you think is kind of strange..??

Goodness. You know, I've been meaning to ask you some questions about religion Parallax, but I think this post will tide me over for awhile. 🙂 Lots of information...I have to admit, I always wondered about the Dinosaur thing too.
In the interim (the time between my reading this post, fully absorbing it and thinking of new questions, lol), I have one for you already. I have a Bible that a friend of mine gave to me as a birthday present a few years ago (she had my name engraved on the front, isn't that sweet! With a little butterfly engraving next to it! I just thought it was nice) - anyway, it is not the traditional "King James" version (which I have enjoyed reading little bits of here and there, because I really like the style of writing...and of course many of the moral ideals within...😛). The version I have is called "The New Living Translation", and it is written in quite modern English, apparently with the goal of making the bible easier to understand. While I appreciate this, every time I read it I can't help but wonder whether "this is the real thing"....I'm afraid that maybe too much has been lost in translation (I hated that movie, btw, did you ever see it?). I'm afraid that the words I'm reading are not entirely what God had in mind. Of course I know that the original language was Hebrew (correct?) and so it's not going to be a million percent accurate, but still...would you suggest that I get myself a King James bible, or do you think I'm not missing anything by reading a modernized version?

I just grabbed my bible and this is how it begins:

Then God said, "let there be light", and there was light. And God saw that it was good. Then he separated the light from the darkness. God called the light "day" and the darkness "night". Together these made up one day."
All of this is easily understood, but I remember the King James version sounding very different.

I deny both sides..).
But one thing is important to know like:

Who?s deciding what other people must believe..??(it certainly not GOD), where all these ends..?? how..?? and so on and so on..!!
I care less about Judaism cause they are the chosen one?or whatever crap they may call themselves?!!
I don?t believe in any God or Gods in any form and I don?t belong to no religion but one, call it (HUMANITY).our past is manipulated with falsification of dates/encounters and heavenly experiences (parallax; you can?t deny it), that site is one of the 100,000s of other sites in net known as Religion Conspiracies, I don?t say I accept what they say but what they say makes me stop and think, it push me to go further to find a true identity for humanity and our origins, wherever it is.

That astounds me that you were never a good student in the classroom. I would never have guessed that. In fact I think of you as one of the smartest people around here. If I knew nothing about your educational career, but still had read all of your posts I would have thought you had aced just about every class in school, gone to an Ivy League college, had a degree in at least three subjects (and my guesses would be Theology, Literature and Political Science), and that you had authored several books. 🙂 And not a word of that is an exaggeration, I really would have guessed all of that.

This topic of one religion has plagued my mind for ages. It all started with my upbringing in South Africa living on what was fortunatley for me the fairer side of the Apartheid fence. A secular state run by hypocrits who would daily spew forth the "re-written" teachings of Jesus and how Christianity is the one true religeon for all mankind but only if you're white...—

Lets look at the two current show down...
George W prays to the Christian God for the strength to make the right decisions but actually only listens to his administration and their "intelligence" gathered before making a decision...
Osama and that lot all pray to their Muslim God and action their lives accordingly too...but atleast they give their God the glory of their actions.
Who's right and who's wrong...—
I am inclined to agree with Qbone on this one. We need to learn humanity first before we are in any kind of position to try and comprehend the omnipotence of God...what God encompasses and only then...how we fit into the picture.
We as humans are all connected yes...we are all one yes...we are all brothers and sisters yes...so why then do we hide within our societies we build around ourselves and adopt a cattle mentality of just wanting to be Joe soap with a nice wife, car and a picket white fence.
When will we realise that our unique lives here and now need to be understood and embrassed before we have the self control and FAITH within ourselves to stand up for what we believe OURSELVES to be right and not just blindly adopt the attitudes of our peers because that way we aren't rideculed...—
Take any great person in our history that has done anything worth while...they largley were rideculed some even executed. I mean the great composers, inventers, astrologers...what do they all have in common...they stood out...they were like no others around them because they believed in themselves and their ideas and accordingly their legacy lives on through us.
I've kinda gone off track a bit here but similarly I believe it is not until we as individuals can find faith, pride and meaning in ourselves that we will be anywhere near ready to comprehend God.
Loads of people have tried and loads still do and the fact still remains that as much as we might know ourselves to be true we can never 100% impart that knowledge upon others...they will have their own point of view and believe what they do themselves.
What is important is that we share...we debate...we use common sense and we quest...

1)the buddha: depends on what buddha you want. who is it asking the question and who does that person think it is? who is wanting, why and what is want? but im digressing(i think). historically, siddhartha was the first "recorded" buddha. he was just a person like you and i. he became labeled a "buddha"(meaning enlightened one-its not really the dude's name) because he awakened himself from the dream of existence. if you are curious as to how, i can run that down for you sometime later.
the term "buddha" also refers to everyone on this planet. you are [a]buddha, i am[a]buddha, he is, she is, and so on. buddha just meaning essential self, awakened self. even if one is not awakened, one still is[a] buddha. they call it buddha-nature. the self-realizing-self-of-no-self-realizing...
2)afterlife: what afterlife? as a buddhist, and furthermore as a human i only know this life. i cant really speak about something i know nothing about. why wonder about such stuff?
3)Charity? sure. good will is good stuff. buddhists take it a little further (only grammatically perhaps) and call it compassion.
4)Not being nice: well basically the same as anyone else-if you're not nice to someone typically they will get pissed off and then you have to say im sorry. same deal.
5)Cars: yeah buddhist can drive cars, and sometimes they crash them (too much meditation)-just kidding...
6)Panted women: yes i think pants are okay on buddhist women. though if they are monks/nuns then i suppose robes are all they wear. and if all one has are robes, why would one want to wear pants anyways? also it depends on the region. ive seen pants as traditional garb of japanese monks.
7)sore butt: yes. but after a while there is a loss of body experience, so the soreness only becomes appearant after one comes out of a long sitting. also we must question butt and the nature of buttness.
8)Atheism/Buddhism: I study zen buddhism. from my knowledge the central area of focus/defocusing is the self/no self. its really a science of the mind and spirit-developing awareness and observation. buddhists have no central deity form to "worship". i have never met jesus or god so i cannot follow someone that appearantly does not exist-especially if the "i" who is doing the worshipping may not exist either...so you see buddhsim and atheism work well together. but dont get me wrong, there are buddhsts that mix with other religions as well. its more a science than a religion.
9)i dont really recall how i became involved in buddhism. i did not seek it or join a group or seminar...hmm. good question.
10)i guess its the study that attracts me to buddhism. i like the human mind. i like the fact that our species has such great mental faculties that we really know very little about. i also like the relaxed attitude about zen.

I just read those as novel or something to (see over) as I said it before I don?t believe in religion and god (gods) and I really CAN prove it with facts and real source of information, the reason of my silence is because of I don?t want to start a debate and arguments on this board.

oh, Q i put that post up for parallax in hopes that he read it.

Take a hypothetical person who has grown up in the woods, say raised by wolves. This person who has no connective "training" from society will not believe in god. I can 99.9% gaurantee it ( the missing % is from the hypotheticalness of the situation). This person would probably be a "good" person-not by societal forms but by his freedom as a human. I doubt god would be necessary.
God is a learned concept. Just like science. I have never seen an atom before, probably never will. But I have faith that they exist.
The same hold true for dinosaurs, air, light wavicles, black holes, the shape of this planet, etc. Is it imperative that I believe in atoms or any other of the crap Ive never experienced before? Not really. Nothing would happen to me. The same holds true for god. Life goes on.
Take away the human element and all of reality stops existing.
Take away your body, your sensations, perceptions, thoughts, and your consciousness and what do you have? Where is god? Where are we as humans? Nowhere.
We are born-it sucks. We live-sucky things happen(as well as great things). We get sick and decrepit and then we die. Flat fact. At that point does it really matter if you have faith in god? I think that TLC has a perfect answer to explain my thought, so what he said is 80% of what I believe, you can not continue to live in harmony with double life path and still be on synch with the nature and your origin!! Its impossible task, what is important is to keep your integrity intact and be whole.
As your holy man said, "who lives by sword, shall die by sword". So, the choosing path is not a simple task when you KNOW what?s going on.
Some choose to stay with religion path, some choose counter religion, it?s very private and it unfortunately became completely integral part of our soul and body almost like we are programmed to carry it.

As for all that poop from before, I think Parallax's last post is pretty good in the part about hope and comfort. I think a lot of people in society need that sort of thing. Something to look foreward to in the future because of their lives being this way or that.
The problem is, I think its interesting that people will build a staircase to an already known(believed to be known) destination.
If people want to believe there is a heaven thats fine. Just a bit weird. Where did that come from?
