I like you do not have the answers.
I will read the book when it comes out later this month.
Perhaps I will gain some insite from it.
What amazes me is science/ religion to me go hand and hand.
If there is a God how he did things is answered by science.
But the leaders of most religions say no he did not do it that way.
I say could he have, they say yes he could have but he didn't.
When did he call them and tell them this.
The Books on religion were writen by men not by God so if he creayed all this I think man hasn't got a clue.
Perhaps he or she or this thing we call God doesn't want us to have a clue.
I still thinkan made up religion to control other men.

I have read about many religions. I am sure there is some basic truth in all. a lot of the storys are repeated from different religions. I personly find the writings of the early christians to differ quite abit. during the first few hundard years there were many isolated groups with different takes as to what it was all about, You may have a different inturpation. I am not arguing religion with you I know to little about the different Dogma of the different faiths to do that. I know enough that I personaly can't see going any deeper into it.I just found Hawking's take on the birth of the universe interesting. I am sure he will get a great deal of opposition to his theory. Let us hope it doesn't become to contrary or hostile.

As for me I am going to take a brake and spend some time with a friend of mine. Have a good week and I enjoyed the discussion.

Yours Tate

You have a good point TG
I am not sure what the answer is and I do not think anyone can prove any theroy of creation at this point in Time.
I am not sure Hawking is right
I do think his theroy has as much credability as any.
I lean toward the theory that before the singularty there was time and space and as space exspands engery is depleated or spread thin
so think that most every thing comes to a stand still except the vibration of the univerises.
Then as two or more unvireses touch the re entergize.
this all being involved with string theroy and the assumption that there could be billions of unversises. Not to leave out the 11 dementions
OH well who kinows

Lets see I started this thread about spontaneous creation,
And I don't think outside the box.
I make a statement about religion being about control,
you want me to waste my time giving you examples of religions controling people.
I'LL give you one Jim Jones,
If you have different opine then state it
take the rest of the night to get it all down for us to read tomorrow.
As for my intelligents
I would have to dumb down a long way to get to a level you can understand.
As for the study of philosophy
who gives a big rat's ass what you study.
I just wasted my time over in the Math/phyisic Departments.

The Catholic Church was way ahead of Mr. Hawking.:

Concerning cosmological evolution, the Church has infallibly defined that the universe was specially created out of nothing. Vatican I solemnly defined that everyone must "confess the world and all things which are contained in it, both spiritual and material, as regards their whole substance, have been produced by God from nothing" (Canons on God the Creator of All Things, canon 5).

A nice job of CYA if I ever saw one. My faith is in Tate to find the answers. A little less time on DXP & more time in the lab (with your pal Igor) should do it. 😛

Believe it or not I may be able to follow your theory.
Ther're is a theory that we all come from a common consciousness.
That is in the extraterrestrial vastness of the universe in contrast to the earth alone.
this gives us a comprehensiveness of the cosmos if we are able to tap into it.
It also is a place where our intelligence goes after the body dies.

Just something for thought.
