Do Sags Tend Towards Eccentricity?

Ironic that as a Sag, I have never posted here, as being a typical sag I'm always trying to learn about all the other signs :p

Reason for this one though is just that I have a few questions about, well, us.

I've always read that Sags can be extremely messy, disorganized, they're the people that have a room/apartment/house that is a disaster but they know exactly where everything is in it. I can relate to this, as when I was very very young I was like this. However, for years now, I tend to have an almost obsessive-compulsive desire for order. I can't stand things that are messy or disorganized or out of place. Everything I own is organized all the time. It's just necessary for me to think clearly. Does anyone else feel this way? Sometimes I worry that it's stronger than it should be, but I can't really get rid of it.

Second question, do Sags have a tendency to go through mood swings? Within the course of an hour, I can be extremely excited and happy, extremely anxious about something, and then back again. Of course, there's lots of time spent in the middle, but I guess the thing that affects me the most is my surroundings. Do any of you find that you're unusually in tune with your environment/have a high sense of situational awareness? I've always prided myself on mine, is that a typical Sag thing or no? Definitely helps with the whole "tactless" thing that can happen. But tends to affect my mood quite a bit.

I don't know what time of day I was born, although I think it might have been early in the morning. I will try to update this when I can. Any chance that it will be off by a noticeable amount without that information? I can see much of myself in the description but a couple things it says I should be I am decidedly not. I'll try to dig up that birth certificate somewhere.

It's all your capricorn.. maybe you have an earth asc.

I've heard two theories with all the reading I've done on astrology, some say a distinct lack of an element in your chart will cause you to go looking for it. Not sure I buy that. The other one is that if you have a lot of an element you feel attracted to it. I'd agree with that, as its certainly been the case. It's almost unreal how well I can get along with earth signs. They almost seem to be able to pull me out of a crowd, too. And I with them. That's very possible.

Cheekyfaerie, funny you say that. Recently posted a question on the Cap forum regarding a girl I know. We get along pretty well, when we are talking haha.

I'm definitely the chaotically-organized one, my boyfriend tells me I'm like a tornado or something cause I always have a billion things everywhere....but I know where everything is. And, don't touch or move it because it throws me off and then I get pissed! haha...Also, I have been told I'm weird/eccentric...It's just part of my charm 😉 and if you don't like it, then you don't have to be around me 🙂

Eccentric, yes. I've called myself eccentric more than once.

I have lots of unusual interests and hobbies, lol...Mom's an Aqua so she encouraged me in my weirdness as I grew up 😛

Moody, hell yeah...and I can go into hermit mode quite often.

Luckily I have friends who understand 🙂

Definitely feel that as sags, we are some of the hardest to pin down in terms of personality, we are all over the map. Sometimes I feel as if there aren't enough lifetimes I could live in order to fully explore every single interest I have to the fullest extent. The world is literally not enough sometimes. It's a strange feeling. Partially due to my chart as well I'm sure, it's almost as if I have so many interests that its impossible for me to just focus on one at a time. That is a major fault of mine. I don't extend that to relationships though :p but thats when you know I'm serious...if I've decided to close off all other possibilities, you'd better be in for the long haul because short of killing me, you won't be able to kill my commitment. Some think we are commitment shy-we aren't, we just are very careful as to what we commit to. It's the best or nothing for us.

Yes to both questions. I am extremely OCD when it comes to cleaning and very organised, almost to a fault. Cleaning gives me peace. Now I've got a little kitten I've revved up the ante! You will slide of ma toilet seat. Everything in my flat has a place, but it is also very comfortable and cosy (I blame Virgo asc). My surroundings are important.

I'm a definite hermit...love chilling at home...or...um...cleaning.

I sometimes wear eccentric clothes and I have a taste for unusual items.

I seem to be more buzzed up when it's late in the evening.

I'm moody/flaky/strange. Friends and family know the deal.

^Haha not at all thanks for the kind words. I always think Sags would have a hard time in the services because of our extreme inability to deal with authority sometimes. Nevertheless I've known a couple.

I feel like sags can be one of the more misunderstood signs, anyone ever feel that? It can be especially frustrating because we are so open and honest (to a fault) about everything we do. Many of the sag guys I know are always the ones getting accused of having "other motivations" even when they don't. It's kind of funny. I think that's sometimes where frustration comes out, because you expect others to "get" you and they don't. Just a day in the life :p

Your traits you talk about I am a capricorn and was born dec 26 . . I can recognise with those mood swings and again love being organised yet can be messy . . Happy with my own mess! Also very much influenced by environment. . . Some days appearing quite possibly depressing. . . However I think a lot of traits you are attracted to are the person themselves. . . Stuff they carry and possibly share. I have a close sag male friend and we have a connection, it's other things that add to the friendship though.

You know what's funny. They say Jupiter makes us lucky...so far in my life I'm not sure I've felt that :p Maybe eventually.

I am seen as a weirdo to most people i know. my best friend who is a Leo always says she wishes she could be more like me.. how i just let go of everything and have fun.. i can make a stranger on a bus my best friend however i can also inslut a lot of people by being so out spoken at times. i dont see it as rude i think im quite funny lol. others probably not so much. by Leo boyfriend loves to get into the battle of whit with me. he is very sarcastic as I am and as a couple we can often be the life of the party as a team. I am messy and unorganized. my leo partner makes systems that i do try to follow however i tend to give up on them lol.

No sags do not tend toward eccentricity only weirded out people and such others do that

Yeah I think they are quite similar to Aquarians who are more known for eccentricity: I actually prefer Sags though as being Fire signs they are warmer. Maybe because I have got Sag rising myself and personal planets in Leo I get on with Sags fairly well (including my son but not my ex lol!) But years ago I had a Capricorn friend (female) who lived with a Sag guy and she was convinced that Sags were eccentric/crazy!

Not sure if there's anything else in here that might be useful. All the Capricorn makes a lot of sense, I find myself relating well to them, also the struggle for money/power/wealth is definitely a reoccurring theme in my life, more so than some Sags, although I've noticed many of us can be like this. I guess I just have a weakness for perfection/nice things, although perfection is subjective. So...there's that.

people find it eccentric when they see me playing Chinese chess... other times I'm playing Japanese chess in either case both games use flat pieces of wood with hieroglyphs painted on top for pieces so the games look unplayable hehe

Oh man. Today is just one of those days. I've been so confused and unmotivated lately, its been very hard to feel any type of purpose in what I do. I am prone to periods of huge second-guessing, wondering if what I'm doing is the right thing. Like any good Sag, I have no in-between emotions internally. I'm either way down or way up. Most of the time I bounce back and forth between the two rapidly, but sometimes I can be just too confused to even know what I'm actually feeling. Anybody else feeling this way lately? Theres a bunch of small things going on in my life that are adding up to quite a bit of stress, which I can handle well externally, but I get tired of it. In addition...the career aspect of my life has dive-bombed lately. Hoping that changes soon.

Thanks a lot, all great info. Seems to describe many of my characteristics as well. Some of the things seem to conflict, which would seem to explain why I feel like a totally different person some days vs. others.

Sometimes I do like to be alone...although I also need people sometimes too. Basically when I want to be alone, I NEED to be alone. When I want to be social, I NEED to be social. It's very hard to for me to deal with either of those not happening...I'll usually make them happen if I need to. I do a lot of thinking when I'm by myself so that when I'm around people, I can just let go and put all the things I've figured out to good use.

oh, justasag, i feel you. that last paragraph summarized my current brain twister. i want ppl ,i dont want ppl. when im in bed alone..i just wish someone was there. when im at the bar, i give the stink eye to every guy who even tries to start a convo or asks me more than 1 or 2 questions in a row, im like, give me my spaaaaace! unless they are who i consider to be 'actually my type!!!' ...which i may add, is like finding a bikini top AND bottom that match at TJMaxx after summer hath wreaked havoc on its shelves.

so then i find him and im like a dog with a bone. hes all of the sudden my perfect compliment. i kiss him like i love him and i put my life on display and invite him in for awhile. he thinks he in but in reality, i figure out how boring he is and i know it will never work. this may take a few weeks or a few months, but it usually happens this way. then i get depressed knowing i have to let him down but once i have crossed that line, the attraction is gone and i cant even be around you for awhile. i usually end up being friends with all my exes later, but when i gotta go, i have that itch, im out.

oh and the mental part, i am soooooo into my head, for the last 6 months to a year. i actually feel very strange carrying on common chit chat nowadays. i just sit and observe if i dont have an interest in the conversation.

I'm the exact same way for the most part. If you see me alone there's a reason I'm alone...that's all I can really say. Of course, in my head, it all makes perfect sense. But I know externally I can be a bit hard to pin down...I've been told as much on a few occasions in not so many words :p

just last night i was labeled 'the most difficult person in the office to get close to' despite the fact that i talk to everyone all the time and make jokes to lighten the mood, etc. i dont know but i think its my BITCHY RESTING FACE!! hahahaha

Lol I'm the same way, at least in terms of how I act...but I am hard to get close to. I can simultaneously act like I don't give a f*ck while analyzing everything in my environment. So, you won't get close if I don't want you to, no matter what. I have been accused of having a very stern resting face sometimes, but it really depends on my mood. It varies a lot.
