Optimism V. Logic

Hey archers. I've been wondering something; a keynote for Sagittarius is Optimism, and I gotta say it's a great trait to possess; However....I must also say that it can be annoying, and self-sabotaging. What I'm saying is, is where does your optimism come from? I know you guys use logic as well, but you mostly are optimistic....is it just blind faith, or what? How can you stay optimistic if logic/reality states something opposite? I find it amazing, but I'd like to understand where it comes from; I could say for myself, I am confident, and out of my confidence a 'semblance' of optimism comes out; I don't necessarily believe that everything works out for the best, but that it just works out, and it's up to you to make it work for you; basically, it's what you take away from a situation, not what happend in it....right? Is this the gist of you're philosophy/beliefs?
Purely in my own words.
Sagittarians are frighteningly clever. This is coming from a calculating Scorpio. Seeming to work within the limits of their usual charm and optimism, they will have learned to do so with incredible resourcefulness. I have never been more shocked by alternative action than ones I witnessed from Sags. You think you can corner someone into the only available option, but they KNOW things. They let you take them that far and somehow they've managed to pack a backdoor with them. The cool thing about it is, they walk on out this magical door with a smile and say "I'll be back" and you can't help but be pleasantly surprised to play the game again. Fortunately I'm charming enough that they would.
Optimism and Logic needn't be complimentary...
Most of the times with me they are contradicting...
My instincts tell me to let the chips fall wherever they may and i'll be ok...
even if logic tells me to predict outcomes and anticipate situations..
However, if caught between logic and blind faith, and i choose one over the other...only to realize that if i wud have taken the other approach things wud have been better.
But i guess we have a reasonably strong instinct, which is not completely reliable but is horrifyingly accurate on a few occasions. We also have a strong sense of logic...what with always trying to find a back door exit smile
but at which particular moment i am gonna choose one over the other is not in my hands!
I wouldn't call my optimism/faith "blind". I am, what I consider, more "realistically optimistic."
For example, in the case of people: I know all people are capable of good and bad & I have faith they will choose to do the good. If they don't I am dissapointed - but certainly not devastated and I'm usually not really surprised either.
I believe just about anything is possible - until it is definately proven otherwise. (Rather than not believing it until I see it for myself, like some.) But I know when something is just not realistic.
But, a few of my other fellow Sag friends are the blindly faithful type. They believe everything they hear, they trust everyone, and in the end they are absolutely devastated when someone does them wrong or they find that something they really believed was a lie.
I agree about us having strong instincts. I am very discerning of a person's real character - despite the front they put up.
Omptimism means you know it can also happen. Pessimim means it can happen but I don't want to be a fool.
Is it possible to win millions in lottory?
"I don't necessarily believe that everything works out for the best"
actually everything works out for the best match to the given conditions. It may be not what I expected but it was the right outcome. If I like it, it'll be good. If I don't like it, I have a new challenge.
I give always this example to my sister. Life goals are like discovering America. Actually you wanted to discover a way to India. But now is it bad to have America out there? No.
If you shoot for the moon and fail, at least you will land amongst the stars...or something like that...one-liner sums up what I think of Sags
