Sag disappeared?

So this Sag guy (Sag Sun/Moon/Mercury Capricorn Venus Scorpio Mars) was pursuing me (a LOT) messages on facebook, text messages (all through out the day but I would keep it short because I prefer face to face conversation), asked me out twice, surprised me at my work with my favorite starbucks drink, took me to my favorite restaurant, walked me to my door step and VANISHED!
I haven't heard from him. He did text me the morning following our dinner date, stating what a great time he had and he enjoyed himself bla bla and now nothing.
I am soooooo confused...what.the.hell?
Why make all that effort just to disappear? I haven't initiated any contact and don't plan to but I did let him know I enjoyed our conversations, I flirted and smiled on our dates and hugged him and thanked him for spending time with me...I just don't initiate messages but I do respond to him within a reasonable time. I don't live with my phone in hand and I am not desperate but it does make me wonder.
I have no previous experience with Sags. I have a few female Sag friends but no experience with the guys at all. I don't know how they pursue or anything but I know the Mars in Scorp placement is a major factor in the intense way he was pursuing me. I know he likes me. I can tell. So I know it's not me but I am hoping someone can provide some insight/advice...
Wait it out? Should I shoot him a text? I'm not opposed to that but I do prefer to be pursued at this point because we've only gone out twice and I would like to see the effort on his part continue, especially since I feel like I have made it apparent to him that I enjoy his company and admire him.
But I am open to suggestions!
