Sag how do you deal with show off friends/one-upmanship?

We've encountered a couple of friends who are like this. Just curious how everyone deals with situations like this esp if it's someone you have to around most of time? 🙂

I'm annoyed as hell by it. My boss does it. drives me nuts. I just smile and laugh and roll my eyes in my thoughts.

I have a Pisces sun Leo moon friend that always needs to be the center of attention.

I don't like the limelight so that's the only reason we are friends still cause she gets into flights and cuts other bitches off that try and steal her shine!! 😆.

At this point in my life, I discern if this person is full of shit or not before I respond.

If they are just bluffing then I don't bother to waste time entertaining it. No need to be rude but don't engage.

If they know what they are talking about, I'll pay attention.

I don't have time for people who are draining. If attitudes and one-ups are getting in the way, on either theirs or my end, I tend to fall back and do my own thing. I try to hear everyone out but if you're being an asshat, I'm not gonna take you seriously. At least for the moment, do you boo-bear...let me be and come back once you're hissy fit is done lol, or once mine is done 😆

It don't bother me. I'm happy if they're happy

anybody with one-sided, repeating character trait bores me.

so if they have other qualities and there's a lot we can do together despite the holier-than-ho attitude, I can still tolerate it.

if that's all what I get from them, then "viva ESCAPISM".

I start doing experiments to see how they react.

My English is not good. I thought feeling to be on a stage is something different than telling lots of good things about yourself and even more different if you do it in a way that the audience is to feel bad and minor about themselves.

I know I talk a lot about myself (1st house Stellium) but it contains also (and mostly) my stupid stunts. Actually I am so affraid of people's jealousy that I never brag about myself. Maybe because of my Neptune in Scorp or Moon in Pisces.

On the other hand when you are about to teach people that it is not chicken filet that smells bad in the refrigrator but Camembert, at the end you are the show-offer|schoolmaster and they are simple|innocent people. subjectivity versus objectivity.

As long as it's every once in awhile, I don't care. But if it's every time I say something, then I try to avoid talking to them at all.
