Yeah sounds like the sag grandma in my life. Very critical of others and very judge-y on looks and appearances. Always has something to say and very needy and demanding.

My mother is like this. It used to KILL me inside. I have never once heard anything nice about myself from her. But then as I got older I realized she also didn't think anything positive about herself either. At some point I realized that her lack of empathy and emotional closeness with me had NOTHING TO DO with me, but everything to do with her and how she is with herself and everyone else. I decided I wasn't going to take it personally (as hard as that is, since she is my mom after all) and that I wasn't going to be like her either. I am sorry you have to deal with this. Our parents should be our biggest lights in the sky, encouraging us and loving us??_ being there for us and raising us up, not down. But, if she can't do it, its not because of you. Remember that, all those issues came long before you ever were born.

My mom was Aries/Taurus cusp with Mars in Cancer. She was most of the time an angel. But when she was angry (bursts predicted for cancerian Mars) her behavior was like your mother's.
