I have about 5 tattoos and I smoke only when I drink (which is not often). But all my tattoos deal with self reliance and faith. I used to have (b)a(/b) piercing but took it out due to joining the military ranks. Also I am too a catholic, I'm just not an absolute catholic and don't follow the religious morals and beliefs to a point.

If these are rebellious acts than you shouldn't just categorize sags as the only rebels.

You have a cancer here.

My strict views on what people do to their bodies is their own personal choice and theirs alone, whether it be unnatural or natural.

I think sags are more likely to be physical risk takers. Those activities you mentioned would not satisfy a true sag's desire for risk ... nothing like flying loops and rolls in a Cessna 150 or surfing w/ sharks ... or doing electrical work w/ the power still on.

Also, there are a lot of more interesting ways to be a rebel than getting a tat, or smoking. For expample, be a right wing GOP type, and then go have an affair in Argentina ... or some other place of your chosing.

I personally, don't smoke, only have one tiny tattoo, and only have two piercings in each ear + my belly which I rarely wear anymore.

But my Sag friends do have multiple tattoos and piercings...and smoke occasionally. SOoooo
Don't know their reasoning. Besides they live in the moment and don't think much about the future.

(I know alot of Aquas like this too though.)

Pacemakers and orthopedic implants are not 'natural to the body'....
Do you find them to be self-destructive as well—??

If you have reached the point in your life where you need these things, more often than not you have been destroying yourself for years. I personally would never take them. I do not see them a self destructive in and of themselves, it's what lead to it, that is.

What I want to understand is the "liking" Saggies have for these "bad things".

Cajun seriously... you are looking down your nose and being judgemental... to this kind of tone and converrsation (in real life).. I tend to take side with ever on earth you are opposed to... be it anything
.. its not tht I side with anything.. its CONTRE to wht you (or anyone) hands out as ''the list to be''

call it a rebel if you want
🙂

It is in my nature to be critical and judgmental.
You did not answer the topic and, as I foresaw, this has turned into a debate on my personal views.
All I want to know is why Saggies like these things.

I am not calling Saggies the only rebels, I just thought the title would be attractive to reader's eyes.

Yes, it is there personal choice. However, when I care about someone I make it my goal to try my best and help deter them from what I believe are bad choices.

Which is the whole point for my topic. They "live" in the moment.
I'm trying to find out if that is the entire motivation for their actions.

It's hard for me to say because I'm not really that type of Sag...
But I don't think it's their goal to be rebels or to be different. (That would def. be Aquas.)
They just do what they feel like doing at that moment, sometimes without thinking much about future consequences.

I can be like that sometimes. I get in these "whatever, I do what I want" moods.
Plus we're just really open-minded - try anything once types.

now whts wrong is piercing or tattooing??

It was originally done by pagans and witches. It is a symbol of rebellion and choice of wrong.

as for smoking..yes, you can help point out, out of goodness of your heart.. but the more you will press upon ''bad habits sags have to leave'' ... it can backfire.

It can and it does with everything. It's difficult to learn off Sag behaviour.

a lot of people smoke,, you are either giving a wrong example or putting a general tag to sag in specific.. an error

I never said Sag and only Sag do these things.

not rebel,, but I do notice a tendency to revolt...
sags would throw off judgement and verdicts.. and are not afraid to 'shock' you in the process.. but tht is just transitory,, not HABIT as habit..

You all take great pleasure in shocking people. The kinds of things you would say... my word.

and would always stand for Human Rights... such as Right of Free speech.. Right to CHOOOSE.. 😛

Even if it were to be choosing the wrong things... *sigh*

Cajunspirit, you seem determined to examine and perhaps dissect the soul of the Sagittarian.

Which of course is a Virgo way but you may become tempted to use the knowledge as a weapon of ridicule.

This is bad, because Virgo can inflict pain like no other.

I examine people and social dynamics. I want to understand as much as I can.

Yes it can be a weapon of ridicule but I think I would be better off knowing, so I won't get upset everytime I have to deal with yet ANOTHER change, that I see as pointless and degrading.

This knowledge comes with great responsibility. Once you know how something works, breaking it is easy.

Canjunman ??_

Namesake aside, you know I'm not a Sag and your question specifically addressed our lovely Sagittarians but it kept me intrigued so now I??d like to offer to the discussion. I invite you to explore the possibility that Tattoos and Piercings are not necessarily the means and ends of a destructive life style . Speaking for myself, they are just another artform though I??ll offer the point that its one more edgy than what is commonly accepted as art. I??ll even concede the point that there are those who are destructive or perhaps are rebellious in your eyes that express themselves with these forms of art but I think that's just it??_

It's an expression.

Could an outsider make assumptions about you or your Sag g/f based on clothes you wear or the music you listen to? Would these assumptions solely based on these two expressions 100% define who either of you are or are capable of?

Your comment about pagans and witches reminds me of an old associate of mine from years ago. He was the creative lead for one of the projects our company developed. Medieval fantasy setting, monsters, dungeons, etc. As the work progressed, he ended up being harassed by a group of people that firmly believed that if you created or worked on such content, it was an admission that you were a??_.SATAN WORSHIPER and that my colleague's work clearly had roots from Anton LaVey (writer of The Satanic Bible) without even knowing anything about my friend. The irony of the situation is the fact that my friend is a practicing Christian and a devout family man who loves his son and wife dearly. Probably one of the most gentle people I??ve had the pleasure of working with. He eventually invited some of these people to our studio, sat them down for an open evaluation of the content, and eventually convinced them that the work was not of the devil but more so in the roots of Tolkien. All this for just an expression of entertainment.

Anyways, I don't know your Sag woman so I can't say whether she's destructive or rebellious. I can only hope that my words allow you to not dwell on the expression itself but to look what's beyond it.

Okay enough preaching from mouth. Lets talk about ME 🙂

Smoking
Confidence and Ego put aside *grin*, I'm told that I'm a pretty amazing guy 😛
With that said, I used to be a BIG TIME smoker and HEAVY drinker for many many years lol. Neither really took away from the wonderful person that I am lol

Tattoo's and Piercing's - NSFW / NOT SAFE FOR WORK
I find good tattoo work absolutely fucking beautiful. I'm not talking about TRAMP STAMPS 😛 but I find certain body art amazing. For example...
(NOTE: NOT SAFE FOR WORK. If this is an issue, walk away from the thread NOW).

Whoever did the needlework is freaking awesome. My hope is that the picture showed you something beyond just the typical tats you may be used to.

I PERSONALLY have no tats or piercings on me but thats because
1. When I was in heavy weight lifting mode (God, I was lifting 6 times a week and going supplement crazy)I dunno, I kind of found the body more beautiful with just its natural developed contours and more fitting for me than body art. Example, this may sound fucking retarded but one of the most beautiful parts of a woman for me is the curve of her back.

2. With one of my potential career paths in the future, getting heavy body art could have an adverse affect on getting hired.

3. I KNOW myself well enough that I kind of have an addictive personality (hence the heavy smoking and drinking). I know that if I got ONE tattoo, its over. I wouldn't be able to stop getting them and wouldn't stop until I was covered in them. Same thing with piercings. I would have gotten my tongue pierced, then a few other parts, then get my cock pierced.

It did, however, irreparable damage to your organs and shorten your lifespan.

It's very simple. Why is plastic surgery so popular?
Because people are insecure and unhappy with themselves. Immature and blind to the perfection and beauty they were born with.

The same applies to tattoos and piercings. It's a cry for help and attention.

It's an expression.

It is. An expression of self insufficiency, unhappiness and sometimes self loathing.

and I knew with absolute clarity... 'Freedom is to be able to choose and make a thoughtful decision, on your own......... learn and amend, strive for better... period.'

most sags reach there very early,, defining their Moral values and limitation, (without virgo nagging/ poking/ snide remarks.. ewww)

Well I am happy you reached this point, I just wish you all did not have to go through ALL of those things to do so.

What angers me, is even though you guys have been through all these things and learned so much, you all STILL continue to participate in bad things even though you KNOW better!

sb, I am amazed at your encounters. But that seems to be a common thing. Sags love to meet other Sags who are more outrageous than themselves. How strange.

—This is whole point of the thread.
WHY!??

Try a little introspection for me, bud. Why do you wear the clothing you do? I'm guessing that your clothes do have some sort of colors. You probably bought them because they are of a style you enjoy?

If we??re going to stick with something expressive, why do you enjoy the music that you do?

There in, may lie the answer to your own question.

—It did, however, irreparable damage to your organs and shorten your lifespan.??

Certainly and your point is well taken. I guess at some point, you can't live the entirety of your life considering the effect of everyone action??s impact on your lifespan. If we looked hard enough, we could find a some sort of rational cause as to why sitting behind a computer typing on DXPNET.COM will be the doom of us all lol.

—It's very simple. Why is plastic surgery so popular?
Because people are insecure and unhappy with themselves. Immature and blind to the perfection and beauty they were born with.??
VERY good point. I may be a bit desensitized to it living in Southern Cal where plastic tits are in my view every day.
But ponder this??_
What if someone was an average person that did fit in your —insecure and unhappy with themselves?? model but with a little augmentation, it was a stepping stone to take themselves to a point where they got out of their shell, they were able to build their own self confidence, they were able to get past a self hurdle so they could continue and grow? Would this means justify the end result?

I'm NOT saying you??re wrong but I suppose I can't view the world that black and white anymore. We all have flaws and lets face it, typical society makes people very sensitive to them. Surely you yourself have or had a flaw that was close to you? While hopefully it wasn't psyche shattering, we??re you able to work it or yourself in a way to deal with or accept it?

It CAN be but certainly not always.
If it is an expression of destruction, then hopefully you??re a enabler of change for them
If its not an expression of destruction, then ultimately the choice is yours as to whether you??re willing to accept someone regardless of tattoo, piercings, or the color of their skin.

—Well I am happy you reached this point, I just wish you all did not have to go through ALL of those things to do so.

What angers me, is even though you guys have been through all these things and learned so much, you all STILL continue to participate in bad things even though you KNOW better!??

I used to TOTALLY view the world this way but I came full circle when I realized that if I could model the world in what I wanted as an —acceptable image??, we??d all be soulless robots, all in one color (preferably blue), with no differences in appearance what so ever. It would be the only way to truly get everyone on the same page.

(Btw, very enjoyable discussion, Cajunman!. Sags, I hope I'm not being too pompous in your territory lol)

You know I don't normally end up in this forum but I wanted to get away from any resembling a MJ debate post or a Virgo post labeled "WHY IS MY VIRGO A JERK" thread so ended up finding Solace with the Sags 😛.

Whats your deal Sags? Are you supposed to be the "Rebels without a cause"? I don't know any Sags in real life so I'm utterly clueless about you clowns. Enlighten me, please.

TBH, I am loving the exchange between two virgos on our board.. and now Cajun has my Vote. 😉

I do not quite catch on what "having this vote" means.

Seems to me VirgoHero, you are agreeing more than disagreeing. All this is a matter of opinion.

I'm happy Archer made things clear for me. I can't fight it and win, I just have to fight it and accept...

Glad you all are enjoying my topic.
