Chemical Engineers who changed the world...
Nicholas LeBlanc-
"ONE of the first chemicals to be
produced at industrial scale, a
product that laid the foundation
for much of the modern chemicals industry,
is sodium carbonate, commonly known as
soda ash or, simply, soda."
"???
for some 60 years
in the middle of the
19th century, the
Leblanc process drove
the development
of the European
chemicals industry??_
and its effects can
still be felt today"
Henry Bessemer....AKA "Man of Steel"
-His process to mass produce steel earns him the title ???Father of the Industrial Revolution??.
-The Bessemer converter from the 1930s now commemorates Pittsburgh??s steel-making history
Paul Heroult and Charles Hall
-Separately, and together, they transformed aluminium from a metal more valuable than gold to today??s throwaway commodity.

10 Ton 50Hz Wood Gas Fired Steam Boiler / Electric Steam Boiler Beautiful smile

Here are her stats:
1. Reliable three-pass and fully wet back structure.
2. Lateral-cut tube technology: increase heat efficiency.
3. Big combustion room design: increase radiated area, decrease emission of NOx, and reduce boiler cubage.
4. Big flue gas tube: reduce the resistance of smoke flow and consumption of electricity.
5. Intelligent control system: PLC and 5.7 touch panel, multi-level protections.
6. Fiberglass heat preservation: low surface temperature and heat loss.
7. Corrugated hearth: more safety and increase heat convection.
8. Multi-level sealing for flue gas chamber: no flue gas leakage.
9. Each boiler is subject to strict inspection and testing before delivery, including hydraulic pressure testing and X ray inspection.
10. Selecting the most suitable burner to match the boiler so as to guarantee safety and reach rated output.
11. Main components, such as burners, pumps, water level meters, valves are limited to renowned brands.
12. Stainless steel plate protective cladding for surface: fine appearance and effective protection.
13. A economizer is optional and possible to save 10% fuel and decrease noise 20dB.
14. Applicable fuels: gas, oil, dual fuel.

The Plant Division's business domain has four main segments: 1) plants for the oil, gas, chemical, steel, non-ferrous metals, cement, textile, and pulp and paper industries; 2) transportation and infrastructure projects; 3) environmental projects, including the control of greenhouse gases; and 4) industrial machinery.

In solgel chemistry, molecular precursors are converted to nanometer-sized particles, to form a colloidal suspension, or sol. Adding epoxide to the sol produces a gel network. The gel can be processed by various drying methods (shown by the arrows) to develop materials with distinct properties.
*I need to find an update on this process.

Hydraulic Pump
I have to see if this system will help my problem in the lab. My system set up is nothing like this...mmm always willing to try something different..

My bf is a ChemE hehe. The EE picture is hilarious. I work with EEs and they tell me they hate ChemEs
yea, we become aware of the animosity between us during college physics and chemistry. grrr
Science ftw

thans for the tip in thermodynamics "unplugs multi adaptor"
your welcome smile
Purification Solutions Absorbents
Treatment using SELECT Hg absorbent is a versatile, robust solution for ultra-purification of mercury from natural gas and light-liquid hydrocarbons
SELECT Hg absorbent products use proven chemistry that is based on reactive metal sulphides for the removal of mercury from gas streams. This versatile cost-effective fixed-bed solution reduces mercury to extremely low levels and can be tailored to the operator??s individual requirements or specific application.
SELECT Mercury Treatment
SELECT Hg absorbent technologies are effective solutions for the ultra-purification of mercury from dry and water-saturated gas.
Mercury is removed from gas by an irreversible chemical reaction with a metal sulfide. The metal sulfide may be formed ex-situ or in-situ by the reaction between a mixed metal oxide and hydrogen sulfide by means of a desulfurization reaction. The resulting compound, mercuric sulfide, is one of the most stable forms of mercury and can be readily recycled through established routes within the metal recovery industry.
MxOy + H2S ???? MSz + H2O
Equation 1. Metal Oxide Reaction with H2S
MSx + Hg ???? MS(x-1) HgS
Equation 2. Metal Sulfide Reaction with Hg
The most basic process system design is a single vessel. When replacing spent media, only a temporary bypass or interruption to the gas flow is required. A more sophisticated approach involves a lead/lag dual-vessel configuration. This provides the greatest operating flexibility and facilitates continuous operation by allowing replacement of the spent media while the system remains online. A parallel design is generally used where pressure drop is a critical process parameter.
The most appropriate product is selected for an application based on the process conditions and the operational requirements.
