A sharp tongue — mercury in Scorpio / 8th house

Dear Scorpios,

this question is especially for you and for all people who have mercury in Scorpio or in Scorpio's house:

Have people ever told you or have you ever experienced that people feel —offended?? by your style of communication? I have mercury in the 8th house. Mercury in this place loves constantly to read between the lines and tries to figure out the intentions behind... When getting hurt, I have a sharp tongue and bring things straight to the point — without using any swear words, babbling a lot or getting loud. People feel either attacked or hurt by this communication style , although I —just?? nailed things and got their intentions right.

Have you made similar experiences? Why do people react so sensitive to criticism when criticism is reasonable?
