Yup. I'm speaking on behalf of those I know and for myself (scorp stellium). I dont trust people and their intentions, I cant help being suspicious...this happens a lot in my closest relationships thou. I think people are full of shit and are capable of most evil...until I'm proven wrong. Truth is, I know what I'm capable of, but I dont act on it, so the paranoia sets in when i wonder if they are as self controlled as me. Its sort of like projection in a way or maybe not. Its the knowing of what lurks in the depths of every person, the dark side of every individual..EVERYONE has it, but will they act on it?
+1...yep. Maybe cuz Im aqua rising, but that is how I look at it...exactly

Yeah I am the paranoid type.. Not to the extent that others might be, but my cap hates it. Like for example, when my car was broken into and my registration was stolen, I was paranoid that they would get my address from my registration and try to break into my house. I didn't understand WHY ELSE somebody would take my registration. My cap said I was being paranoid. Also when my cancer sister first announced that she was leaving her abusive husband, I was worried that he might try to kill my sister. In the past, he has dragged her from a moving car, thrown a hammer at the back of her head among other things, so I thought my concern for my sisters life was valid. But my cap scolded me for being "so paranoid". Yet he freaks out at least once a month, thinking he's going to lose his job. But I'm the paranoid one. Lol

I agree. I become suspicious when someone is being flirty etc. I feel like as if they flirt the same with eervyone else at the same time or they have an agenda chasing phase. Feed you bullshit to gain your trust and when you do, they act different and you end up hurt in some way. It can be from experience coz you dont want to make the same mistake twice. Its a negative which I feel I need to work on. Not everyone is like that but its continueous lol.

Hmm probably a little. But generally it's based somewhat on reality only then I can occasionally take a realistic molehill and turn it in to a paranoid mountain if I over think. ๐

I wouldn't consider these examples of paranoia or paranoid behavior truthfully. I would think the exact same things and I know I have, especially in the situation with your sister.
It's quite common that abused women who try to leave or escape their situation are stalked and that their partners try to kill them either intentionally so no one else can have them or in some rage filled fit. I'd say a lot of your feelings were valid.

The one I know best is a family member and he is so dog gone paranoid, it's pitiful. He thinks people steal from him, are trying to take advantage of him and that someone is going to break into his house any minute. Whether his fears are founded are not is difficult to say.
So, what do yall think? True stereotype or is this a misconception.
And, no, I'm not trying to start anything here, just curious.
