Common sense, much?

Do Scorpios always let their personal shit get in the way of common sense? I've noticed this with a lot of Scorpios, your brain shut down and you are not receptive for anything that anyone else says. Being objective is not one of your virtues, neither is looking outside of the box! Your inability to see things from other an perspective sometimes makes you look just plain stupid.
A little constructive criticism, plus I wanted to see if anyone else has noticed this? Winking

I wonder how you guys even learn things? I mean at some point in your lives you'd have to go "Oh i didn't know that, you are right. I learned something new today". But that doesen't seem to exist in the Scorpio vocabulary.

I beg to differ. There are obviousely different sort of ideas and contexts. Democracy like communism have common sense within their own contexts, but in the end which one makes more sense? From an objective perspective it's democracy right?
Or say you approve of the death penalty but only for child rapists. Now if you can't back it up in any other way but with your feelings in terms of a parent then your argument lacks common sense... while I can give you at least three objective reasons to why child rapists shouldn't be killed in the name of the law!
Btw, it seems you only talk about your objective, out-of-the-box qualities in terms of your work... so I guess you are some sort of smart-ass problem-solving business man , but I'm talking about common sense beyond the material world. I'm talking about the idea world. And not the kind of ideas you put together in an advertising agency...

ellessque Oh give it a rest. In my time here you Scorpios have already proved you are everything Leos are only just about 10 times worse! Leos are supposedly self-absorbed maniacs who only like to talk about themselves... well check out the Leo board. Empty. Now check out the Scorpio board: a bunch of defensive and aggressive people who only like talking about how great they are. Forget about a little fresh breeze from the outside, noooo scorps are beyond all criticism! It's fun being in your own little box.
Actually if you check the Leo board you will rarely see a defensive or aggressive Leo, most of the time we just explain why we are the way that we are without making any excuses or taking it personally. Seems that Leos possess far more self-distance than Scorpios.

Yeah wait let me just change the name to "Scorpios lack objective perception" . Common sense is common sense, all the academic nonsense you can dig up won't change that fact. DazedScorp: I entered a passionate debate with a girl at my work which is what made me think a little about all the Scorpios in my life... I agree with the first line, which is my whole point. But I don't agree with the latter stuff. I've seen relationships where the guy has no saying in anything that even remotely resembles a philosophical discussion because he's married to a Scorpio Super Chick... and it's just gotta be the way she says no matter how unreasonable it is. Unreasonable from a subjective perspective, in case DazedScorp wants to play dumb again.
And my ex was this way too... altough she did try to see things from a more objective point of view (EVENTUALLY!), she'd still be paranoid and defensive most of the time. After a while I was walking on my tiptoes around her, trying not to awaken her Scorpion EGO.

Leos get their fair amount of criticism, and as I said, they talk about it in civilized fashion. Now enter the Scorp board and what do you find? People that are so passionate about themselves that they are unwilling or unable to admit to one single flaw attributed to their sign. Wow. Just wow.

IT IS STILL ABOUT GENERALIZATIONS! You can pick apart a chart, you would still generalize about the different placements and aspects. Would you not?! Of course you would put it in a greater context, but the generalization is still there. I mean a Mars in Leo usually means the same in theory altough it may manifest itself in various ways in the practical life, but the general idea about the Mars/Leo is still there!
Tell me how come just about every Scorpio I've come accross in my life has sooner or later shown these specific qualities regardless of the other aspects in their charts?

Btw, I don't put much emphasis on what I read until I experience it myself. Some things that I've noticed about the different signs aren't even included in any astrology books, I've simply picked up on them myself by observing. And I stick to those observations even if I can't find them in any books because I trust my experience first and foremost.
Anyway I've had Scorpios around me my whole life... family members, friends, friends of family members etc... so I think I'm more than qualified to come to certain conclusions. I don't think there is another sign that I'm more acquainted with than the Scorpio. I've seen you guys in practice long before I read the theory. So there you have it...

Each birth chart is individualized and specific to that persons date of birth, time of birth, and location of birth. Those aspects will be different for each individual. Let's say you know 100 Scorpios.
100 / 583,333,333 = 0.00000017%
You don't even know a thousandth of a percent of the Scorpios on this planet.
You are drawing a conclusion based on one thousandth of a percent to generalize the 580 million Scorpios on this planet.
So there you have it...

Yes my tone was rather harsh in the first post, had I known I would be taken so heavily I would have chosen my words a little more carefully. But I usually perfer to write how I feel in the moment, otherwise I'd loose my thread of thought.
Indeed, astrology is about generalizations in the end, I don't know why people fear that word so much... As you said, what are we doing here if we don't recognize the 12 signs of the Zodiac as a first draft to our personalities? Astrology or no astrology, everything about us and our world is somehow in general terms. You can observe a little closer and see differences in the pattern, but in the end it's not necessery to get the overall picture.
Right allme! I myself am intrigued by my negative qualities in terms of being a Leo and Cancer mooner, I like it when someone says something about these aspects - good or bad - that I can recognize in myself. Where Scorpios got the idea that they are somehow beyond criticism beats me.

This is why I don't often get along with other leos. Just the thought process that resulted in the creation of this thread is appalling to me.
Utilize leo's best qualities. Be too proud and regal. Bullying and antagonizing for the sake of creating a shit storm is beneath you. Be a leader to yourself. Set an example. Act with some dignity and respect.
I haven't gotten on too well with many a leo throughout my life but I still think we can be great and have a lot light to offer the world. Especially in these dark times. I've contributed my share of harsh words on these boards but never to outright bring others down. It's more like a tough love approach.

I would say that since Scorpios are actually a feminine sign,that they are more subjective than objective.They are basically a subject of their own feelings and moods.They don't see things how they are,they see things how they "feel" them.And who knows how and what that may be,based on their own perception.Since they are so secretive and defensive,it is hard to probe them.The only way I have found to manipulate a Scorpio is to beat them at their own game.Even then,one might lose and lose badly.And you have to make sure you don't have feelings for them,because then it would hurt.


I am none of things you said about Scorpios. Every sign can be moody, every sign depending on what it is your asking can be secretive and defensive.

They don't see things how they are,they see things how they "feel" That is not true of myself.

Geminis: moody, secretive and defensive, they do manipulate. Now thats only some of their bad traits.
Playing games is something geminis do a lot.
