Dealing with difficult parents

Hey scorpios, have you ever dealt with a parent who treats you unfairly? How do you deal with that as an adult? How do you not let it affect you emotional makeup?
I think everything in life happens for your benefit even though you might not see it like that at the moment. It's just a test in life or you might call it the school of life. You will be tested repeatedly until you are able to pass that test. You just have to be patient. Your life needs that test for some reason which will be apparent in the future. For example maybe you will have a future career or kids or whatever the situation and you will be treated unfairly and its the skills learned from your parents which will allow you to to handle yourself correctly. You might want to ponder their point of view for a bit after the unfair situation and you might see why. Also you may want to ask them the next day or two and see why. Just ask with a respectful tone.

I thought my parents were really hard on me and i was resentful for over 30 years. Then one day life came crashing down hard and I was like $ # $ % this is why my life was so difficult. I had all the skills needed to get me past this year.

Another example is the butterfly. One day a person seen a butterfly breaking out of its cocoon. So the person thought they would be kind to help the butterfly out. Because he helped the butterfly break out it couldn't fly. The butterfly needed the struggle of breaking out of its cocoon to build up the muscle in its wings to fly.

Sorry this about the long post its my first forum post ever. Hope it helped.

Also you can check out Manly P Hall lectures on youtube. He has some great advice. Take care.

That was excellent advice...definitely put a positive spin on a difficult situation.

Parents are usually your primary emotional support, I'm sure it has repurcussions when one parent lets you down or when you grow up to see they are only human dealing with their own issues and insecurities.

How did you learn to forgive your parents?

Well forgiving your parents/others or being thankful for tough situations is like an on going thing in life. For example just say you you were going to a party one weekend and your parents yell at you and say no you have to go to a cpr course. So your super mad think its unfair and end up going to the stupid course. Well 20 years down the line your in the middle of no where and husband is about to die and you save his life because of that course. Or you had to learn to change a flat tire and thought it was pointless but end up getting stuck somewhere in the middle of no where in a dangerous area and you end up changing the tire alone and potentially saving your life. I just think everything you go through in life is needed for a future situation. Kinda like you need grade 1 math for grade 2 math. If that makes any sense.

Sometimes parents don't want to do or say what they say but they just have to for your own good. I didn't learn that til late either. I had something else to say but forgot now damn it.

Oh ya i remember now.

Always learn to forgive as quickly as you can!!! It's a must. I recently came across something that said high percentage of cancer or those type of illness starts from resentment/hate. It will also hurt your spiritual heart. It will also keep you really young looking. I'm in Egypt and spoke with my uncle who is in his mid 50s but looks like he is in his late 20's. I asked him how he keeps looking so young he was like don't have hate in your heart and eat alot of fruits and vegetables. Anyway i think i went way off topic sorry about the rambling. Another side note eat a spoon of honey everyday and you will look 40 at 60 smile take care.
Scorpio children are sensitive but if the parents can manage their egos, they can learn a lot from their offspring

The problem is most parents don't see this and end up trying to suppress the child

That was a great read.Thank you. Reminds me of two quotes here

"Everything you are going through is preparing you for what you asked for"

"Everything you are going through is preparing you for what is yet to come"

I never understood if either of these said it's gonna get better or worser. I mean I sure do understand with every level comes another devil n we shouldn't expect things to go a certain way. But solely talking about those statements n your post, do you think we are getting prepared for even worse battles or we're being trained to handle good things we may not otherwise be able to handle the way we should?

Forgive parents? For what? They didnt teach u to walk? They didnt teach u to speak out ur mind? They didn't give u clothes to wear? They didn't give u food to eat? They didn't sent u to school so u can get education which will help u struggle through hard times and understand things in life?

I guess u should not forgive them, just pay back every thing they owe u and move on... give them all the money they spent on u from Ur childhood till now, pay them back all the years they wasted raising u... Just pay them back and move on to live Ur happy life... So they can raise someone who will be their support when they will age, cuz they have failed raising u right...

I can understand all parents r not same, but u should realize u r nothing but the waste they dropped during their satisfaction...

I thought Scorpios lack respect for their lovers only... But they can't even give respect to their parents.... How pathetic...

Hey, come on, that's not fair.

Parents are human too, they can hurt their children when they themselves have unresolved issues of their own. I'm a teacher and year after year I see so many kids being emotionally crushed because of their parents.

Most of those kids are bright and would do so much better if their parents had a kind world to say to them or be silent supporters if nothing else.

Everyone is different, please don't judge.

it is what it is - step outside and look at it in the sunshine!

forgive your parents ? lol - 2 people who have a child - it's not magical - no one is special - forgive them because they are human like you - it doesn't mean that you have to forget - but that is also IMO ...

Where did you get these quotes. I was on my way to the airport yesterday thinking about this then look in my phone and find this lecture:

"Do we choose our lives before we were born" Manly P Hall

To me I see the first quote is referring to before we came to earth and we were just souls with God. The second one maybe referring to live after death (the hereafter).

I've listen to Terence Mckenna, Manly P Hall and Mohammed Mousa talk about this. I think we chose our lives before here somehow. I don't really understand it much. These lectures just make me ask more questions but I don't really know much about everything.

Based on my life personally I think we are always preparing for better. Even though everything I go through seems so bad and going to kill me then I graduate from that and onto the next problem. They all feel like then are worse and harder problems but after you are way better and way more humbled by them. If that makes any sense.

This post really makes me think to much. I feel like an idiot.

Superscorpio gave excellent advice. I agree on the "lessons of life" and see it that way as well.

In order to forgive, you must learn to see them as humans, not super humans. They had a childhood as well, they struggled as well, they have insecurities as well... they have given you what they know and the only thing they know how to give based on their life experiences. When you take the time to understand them and understand their childhood and how they grew up... you learn to be forgiving and you learn to just love them.

My Aqua father was always affectionate with us, but his need for independence really created major problems for the entire family. He and I didn't get along for many years and I thought it would never change because he was incapable of having a direct, adult conversation with me. He was a pro at evading and shifting blame on others. Anyway, I started letting go and visualizing him as a child, and loved the child within him. He had a horrible childhood and grew up extremely fast. It made me feel like protecting him, that little boy - it changed my perspective.

It worked. It really worked. Seeing him in a different light, made me approach him differently too. Now we connect on a level I never thought possible. I keep getting surprised but in a very positive way. It's wonderful to experience!

Hope this helps for you too!

Wow I have never even asked about my parents childhood and past at all. I know a bit here and there but barely anything. Thanks for pointing it out probably a sign its time to look into it. I was just always getting into trouble in their eyes smile I didn't really get a chance to talk much with them. They were born and raised in Egypt and I was born and raised in Canada. So we have to completely opposite points of view. Anyway I will try to learn more about them in the following years.

I've never had affection from my father so I can't really relate. My dad is tough but I tell you if he wan't the way he was I would have been one bad ass kid that's for sure.

Your post helped for sure. Thanks so much.

Ha I spent like an hour typing what was so difficult and then it didn't post because I had not entered my email verification code. So I take it as a sign not to tell yet. If you really want to know you can message me in 2018 smile Sorry i don't mean to be rude when i say that i'm smiling but it wouldn't be understood properly at the moment and I still have more research to do on what happened its very complicated. I hope you understand.

Ha. It's cool I always think way to much. I'm trying to solve the mysterious of life smile I understand what your saying about life is hell. Life is hell compared to heaven Big Grin FOR SURE there is heaven. We are definitely not here just to die. I think each and everyone of us is so special far beyond what we think. We are so special we were given a human body as a gift.

Check out Dr. Azzacove he was drilling a big hole in Siberia and they record crys of people burning in hell. I don't know if it's true but I've seen so much in life that i believe almost anything.

I also read this super interesting post on dmt nexus about a guy going to the edge of the universe to the gates of heaven. It was such an amazing read but I can't find it now. I spend a whole 15 seconds googling for you smile If I do find it I will send a message.

Sorry I didn't mean to sound like an ass or anything saying for sure and what not but I don't know if anything I say is right but heaven and hell that is forsure! If you want to ever know anything just ask God in your head and he will show you sometime down the road.
@ninaP I totally butchered your post. So sorry I do not know proper posting etiquette. If you or anyone has some proper advice for posting or things I'm upsetting you with just inbox me. I can handle anything said no matter how bad it may sound. As long as its honest. I don't understand beating around the bush at all.

I like to believe we're special but I don't know.I'm still confused if life is a gift or death is.But life sure is fascinating.. amazingly fascinating.

I wouldn't strike anything off of being impossible either. Didn't see much...but I'm sure open to ideas. What do we know? There are mysteries n miracles n questions we don't have answers to.

Aww.That's so sweet. Thanks for the effort.I appreciate it. Sure, do send me a message if you ever find it. It seems interesting.

That's what you believe in n I totally respect that. As I said, I don't deny the possibility of anything. Knowing answers would be amazing I guess. But I don't know if I've to expect to know anything.

good stuff in here !

but what happened with your life was trashed ? why was it so difficult - not sure I'm reading that right or if I need some further explanation ..

I do understand. I've spent my entire life trying to understand what happened in my childhood - but it also shaped the way I am today and for that I have to be grateful. Just keep trying to go in the right direction while trying to understand. That's all we can do!

Take care.

Lol... I'm so sorry to make you think so much. I've been trying to decipher that quotes since long. They are not as simple as they seem. I came across them multiple times on the internet n I don't know if they're supposed to be happy quotes or a depressing ones. Those are two different quotes actually. It's interesting how you related them to life before n life after. I believe life is hell...you know like a punishment (not saying my life is hell lol...just a general thought) n if there is something called heaven, it's probably death n not being born again.
