Judging upon experience, once two Venus in Scorps unite, it's quite difficult to take any other relationship after that serious.
I don't jump into relationships unless I know I'll be taking it serious.
I'm a stayer, not a strayer.
I'm guessing you and your ex enjoyed the intimacy between one another?
And almost 9 years.. That's tough to break away from in general.

Yes this was in 2009 & I've dated another guy, a Capricorn with Venus in Aquarius but it didn't work, he's a compulsive liar..

Does anyone think their Venus sign dictates if they're gonna stray OR take the relationship serious?
I'm a Scorpio Venus & haven't met anyone I can take serious since I broke up with my ex Virgo of 8 1/2 yrs.
I just did a chart on him & just found out he also has Venus in Scorpio...

aww man that's a long time.. sorry things didn't work out. I'm a Taurus with a Venus in Aries, I don't stray, but I DEF know when its time for me to leave. I give notice well in advance (When I start to feel antsy, too bored, predictable or "settled") but if nothing has been done to improve the situation, or to "spice things up" then I'm OUTTA there. They can't say they weren't warned and/or didn't know WHY I left.

Since I've only recently dabbled in the importance of the Venus sign for compatibility, I've started to connect the dots & have realized I don't mesh well with fire signs in Venus

compatibilty doesn't only rely on the "Venus".. you may want to take a closer look at their "Moon (emotions) & Mercury (communication). I sometimes look at their Mars (sexuality & drive), to see if I'll be dealing with a "retaliatory" or aggressive type. So I know my "Limits" with them ahead of time.

Venus is just "Part" of the puzzle in love matters it gives a glimpse of your partner's "Love Language."
Just because your partner's love language may not be understood by you from the beginning, doesn't mean it can't be learned.

My ex Cap's Venus was in Scorpio, and Mine(as mentioned above) is in Aries (a fire Venus)..
We're BOTH Earth signs, but my MOON is in Scorpio, my emotions resonated with HIS Venus. (I didn't mind his jealousy, or stalkerish ways..lol)..He was one of the few men that I loved.
If only he has his STUFF together, I would have married the man, EASILY. But that wont be. I still have love for him though.

So you see?? All is not lost if the Venus' don't EXACTLY match.

Cap Sun/ Cap Venus

The contract is everything. No contract, then we have nothing. If you have not explicitly stated that we are in an exclusive, monogamous relationship, and that you are my boyfriend, then you are nothing to me. I will assume that you are sleeping with anyone and everyone and I will do the same. Sure, I'll still play with you...until I get tired of you or find someone better.

When we have a verbal contract, I'm yours forever OR until you do something that shows me that you're a -fill in the blank: flake, asshole, idiot, etc.

If we have a written contract, then I will be yours forever, accept all your flaws, do anything for you, and do anything to try and fix the relationship if it is broken, at all costs including my personal sanity/happiness, barring some kind of repeated abuse or infidelity. In that case, I will nullify the contract.

I understand it better now, but I have noticed a pattern with fire/air signs in Venus, I guess I'm better matched to a water sign Venus

Pisces sun/ Aries venus
My sun (or something else?) always changes it's mind on what it wants and my aries venus takes charge and I run away. And then my sun second guesses itself and I go back and then my venus gets bored again. My sun wants to be in a committed relationship with a deep, meaningful connection, but with my venus, it seems to enhance my feelings of wanting to leave whenever I get bored or feel things aren't going to work. A scorp sun, virgo venus was able to catch me for two years. So far, that's the longest. He was all about commitment and was ready to live his life out with me from the beginning, it seemed. I have zero experience with fire or air venuses, but I imagine that might be pretty iffy. Found an aqua with venus in pisces to be really committed, too, though, seemed to be allergic to the word 'marriage' in true aqua fashion. Both guys were dominant in scorpio, though, and I feel that's important to take into consideration, for the loyalty/commitment aspect of it.

1+.

The fickle and superficial outlook of fire signs towards relationships(especially commitment) is a huge turn off for me.

I think other elements need to be considered. I have my Venus in Sag and I am no where near superficial or fickle when it comes to relationships--thanks to my Sun sign. I do require a lot of stimulation to keep me interested, but the lack of stimulation from my partner does not mean I will stray from the relationship.

I should clarify because it looks like I was contradicting myself here. I need a lot sexual, emotional, physical and mental stimulation to be happy in a relationship. If something (no more than one) is missing, or the relationship lacks the intensity I need it does not necessarily mean I will stray. My partner and I will need to have a long conversation though.

It is a strong indicator you have a scorpio venus and that is a strong venus to stay loyal. But that's not all the way true for scorpio venus you are looking for some one that is totally into you and only you, someone that would jump on a sword for you lol. That's not going to be easy, sign of cheating are many but here are the ones that I see all the time. Moon square or opposite venus mars squared venus and venus conjunct uranus.

Speaking out of personal experience, yes. I am a Sagittarian with Venus in Scorpio. I'm not even remotely close to the textbook definition of Sagittarius in relationships. As I was very different from some of my fellow archers, I searched for answers in my natal chart. Then again, one Sagi I know has Venus in Capricorn with a Taurus Moon, and Scorpio Mars for company - yet, there's no passion at all, let alone the kind that makes a relationship last. To sum it up, the Venus sign might have a bearing on the native's commitment, but other nuanced influences in the chart not visible to the untrained reader could supersede the energy of one planet.

It matters what house it is in more than the sign. For example if you have a Scorpio Venus and it is in the 11th house you will treat you partners more like a friend than a lover.
awwww DAMN. My Venus in Aries is in 11th house... does the same rule apply?

Yes you may also meet partners in group setting as well. DON'T WORRY I have it to plus its a good place for getting money as well.
