That's not true, P-Angel. It varies by state. In New York, 17 is the age of consent. You can also become an adult at 17 through certain methods in this state. California is the only one I can think of off the top of my head where the age is 18.

It varies all throughout the US too. The youngest is 14 and is in Delaware. The oldest is 18 and is in California. Here in New York, it is 17.
