MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Dipped in Tarter Sauce, around here, Gorton Fish Sticks are the best off the market shelf.
Simple Lettuce and chopped tomato and onion salad and Bleu Cheese. (sometimes Thousand Islands)
I must say that a slice of Garlic Bread and butter would be a fine finish to
this early morning meal.
Wash it down with some water, iced tea or a diet coke.
Goood Eatin' Works for me! smile
This is great! smile

10 sticks and large plate of salad.
Next time, maybe 5 sticks, a bowl of Bar Harbor Clam Chowder, and a cocktail shrimp salad.

Sounds loooovely ....
Did you try chowder Mr F?

Not this morning. It's been awhile.
It's great when it's cold out. A lot like Pea Soup or Campbell's chicken noodle soup.
Used to eat Campbell's chicken noodle soup right out of the can when I was a kid.
Add some pepper and it's gung ho. Especially when it's raining or snowing outside.
I've just got a thing for seafood that doesn't quit.
But then... I can say that about many other fine, albeit simple and oftentimes, cheap dishes.
Next time, it might be chili con carne, a southwestern dish of beans and meat and hot spices aka texas chili. Or perhaps, I'll have a hankerin' for westernized Chinese rice, shrimp chow mein and an egg roll and green oolong tea.

But this am, it's fish sticks and salad. Sure am glad I don't have to eat out.

Is that a pic of where you live now?

No, that is Bar Harbor on Mt Desert Isle. and part the region where I was born.
I was born in Ellsworth, Maine.
This little white house just a few feet from old US Route 1 which runs from Canada to Florida
and right through Washington DC. This house is my very VERY first home that I lived in,
when I was born. The house would shake when the trucks rolled by. A fore-telling of my future?
Now I want to go on a tall ship cruise around Barbados smile
And eat fish sticks.

Sounds good
I would love to visit those places of the pics you posted....where are they, in the States Mr F?

Yes, in Maine. (see previous)
From my first home, you could see Cadillac Mountain (at which northern foot, lies Bar Harbor),
which is the very first piece of land that the sun shines upon in the US. Also, you can see Bar Harbor, across Frenchman Bay.
The region is world famous for it's Lobsters.

Oh my, that is interesting. The thing is i have been drawn to that area for a long time. I watched a movie, Olive Kitteridge. It was filmed at Cape Ann and North Shore...do you know those places. There was a wildness about them that attracted me. For years i have been looking at pics and thinking i will go there...familiar somehow? When my son is in college in a couple of years, i will fly over. Would the nearest airport be Boston?

I think you're thinking of Boston.
Cape Ann and North Shore are both in the northeast coast Massachussetts. Maine is still, further north and separated from Mass. by New Hampshire.
As for Boston, that is the major city where you'll find an International Airport and likely the closest to Maine you would want to fly into, Of course, there may be flights to Augusta or Bangor Maine.
IF your son is attending college in Boston, I assume that he might attending Harvard or MIT, in Cambridge, which lies within the Boston Metro. Been there, done that.
Haven't been to Cape Ann or North Shore.
As you might know, Boston, itself is quite the town of American History. In the older districts, the town would look similar to those of the British Isles.

North Shore - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/North_Shore_% 28Massachusetts% 29
Funny thing about Boston, was on my last road trip as, what we call a team driver, as "Co-driver" or "Second Chair" at one trucking (lorry) company, the lead driver got lost coming into Boston, while
I was asleep (I had been there many times before driving with this driver). He woke me up and as I looked through the curtain, I saw he had drivin down the wrong direction on a one way street.
He asked me to get out and help him back up the truck. I said "No, you get out and stop the traffic, I'll back up the truck and get us to our destination", which wasn't too far, as I recall.
There's a song that fits that driver like a glove.

Thanks Mr F
My son is attending college in Ireland...i meant i would wait to get him settled before i had a trip...thanks for info. I have been to the states 5 or 6 times..but not to that area, so i am not familiar with it. Boston is full of Irish people...huge connection between the two countries. My dad told me that at one time, every other cop in NY was an Irish man
Haha to the one way street..i did that in the middle of a city onceLaughing...luckily it was around 2am in the morning so not many people were around
Btw the title of this thread would make a great name for a book dont ya think? smile

NYC is a nut farm. Plenty of nuts to go around. The constant motion of people cars and noise....
Been there many times, but I certainly wouldn't live there.
IF you like to write a book and think you can use it, you're welcomed to do so. smile

Atta girl! That's what I'm talkin' about! smile
There are 2 ships the Sea Cloud and Sea Cloud II
I would want to sail on the original "Sea Cloud" as it IS the proper tall ship in their fleet to grace the romance of the sea.
