3-4 years and It's still a topic I avoid. Someone once told me, you take the length of the relationship and divide it by 2, and that is how long it will take you to get over that person. When she first told me this I was fresh out of a relationship and thought she was exaggerating the length because I felt fine after the breakup....time has shown me and hats off to her 😉
thats a quote from sex and the city actually. it's called the break-up rule.

It takes time. The reason people say that is because there's no rule, reason or rhyme to how little or how much time it takes lol.

Though honestly I don't 'get over' people I've loved. A part of the experience stays with me forever, good and bad, and I use those times to help me move forward and be the person I want to be. Anyone I can 'get over' I didn't connect with deeply.
it's not getting over them as a person\experience its getting over the pain of losing them or being cheated on by them etc...
