I would like to know what people think on helping someone financially. Recently my boyfriend has gotten into a bit of a grind and I can't help but want to do something to help. He has in NO way asked me personally for help but he has given the impression that if I did offer he wouldn't turn me down. In the past I have never been so open with a man. Im in love with him and theres so much of me that wants to do whatever to make him happy like he does me. I've never felt like this so I don't know if it's too early to help him out or know if it will change things between us for the worse or for the better?
I've been supporting him by just being there for him while he works his 3 jobs 60+ hours a week .. which as you can tell we see each other about twice a week an hour or two for each visit.
So what do you guys think?
Will this make us stronger? Or worse? Will being a woman giving him money make him feel less about himself? Will he expect this all the time or just appreciate that I am doing this now? Should I just leave it alone and let him get out of this? If this is what I choose to do.. whats the apporiate way to go about it?
If I do help him out with money I am NOT giving it as a loan it's simply a gift I guess you can say. I don't loan money anymore because it's a mess to get people to payback and I rather them do it on their own. Im also not going to give him tons of money just a little something here and there as I still have my own life to run. Lucky for me I have a great job, money saved up and not in anymore debit. So this summer for me is good. But it hurts me to see him like this.
Anyone with this situation before? Or any men out there that had there girl help them out financially? Any girls help support their man?
I answered on your other thread, but I pretty much said .....
Instead of asking us, strangers, what you should do ... you should recognize that the sheer thought of doing this is causing questions of doubt in your mind as to the standing of the relationship.
Go with your heart. That's all. Would you help someone else that you love to get out of a bind? Is the love reciprocated? Is there an ora of expectation on him that leaves you to believe it would be harmful for him to accept this from you?
I can't tell you what to feel comfortable with, but it seems even the thought of him leaning on you for this seems questionable for ....What? his manhood or ability to supply and provide?...Everyone needs help now and again. There is never any shame in showing your love by showing your support no matter what category it comes in. Part of loving someone is simply putting yourself aside long enough to walk in their shoes. Is it more important to relieve the financial stress that effects both of you, or to consider his pride (which goes before a fall) as a man? Love rules! Speak freely an openly of the situation. You'll never find a good way to deal with it by manipulating the situation to "look" like he owes less. Jut my opinion love. Good luck! 🙂
