Alright, there's this guy at work. He's a Scorpio, I'm a Capricorn girl. We have become really good friends. Problem: I'm married but am soon to be separated (which I think he knows). The Scorp is shy but seems to open up when he talks to me. He is always trying to make me laugh (which we do together constantly) and we have loads in common. When we first started talking, there was no attraction there for me. Intrigue, but no attraction. Now he's all I think about. He's very cool and calm and can be very aloof on the exterior, but I've seen him mad once or twice, and I've later laughed and told him I wouldn't want to be within 100 feet of that temper. He got a big kick out of that. Anyway -- he preens himself all the time when he is talking to me, and sometimes he can't even look me in the eye. I am leaving this job for another job very soon, and we've both kind of hinted around at doing outside activities, but we both sort of back off and nothing comes of it. I'm feeling that the attraction between us is incredibly intense and quite frankly it scares the beegeezus out of me! My question: How does a shy Scorpio guy usually show his attraction? And do they eventually act on it? I do all the right things -- listen to him attentively, laugh at all his corny jokes, do little arm touches when I talk to him -- but I am not the type to ever make a "move." I am petrified of rejection. Will he ever make a move?
Help...Male Scorpio Driving Me Bananas! lol
Thanks, Siren...we've made some attempts at this, but it just fades away. We were supposed to see a movie, then it turned into a game of back and forth ("When can you go?" "Well, when can YOU go?"), and now we're YET AGAIN supposed to see the movie but nothing else has been said. Last thing he e-mailed me was "This week isn't good...next week will be better" to which I said, "Okay." I simply cannot make the move. If it means I lose out, oh well. My Capricorn practicality and dislike for stupid games is kicking in, ala "if it's this much trouble, who needs it?" lol

I am a shy scorpio,he probaly does want something more but don't think he'll be making a move so that leaves you.But I think he definitly is attracted to you,I can't center on people I like either but very, very shy towards throwing myself out there.Just straight out be blunt with him towards getting the date to happen and if he does realise the risk of you saying forget this he might come around if it is a game,if it isn't he might explain whats going on to prove that it's not a game and tell you the situation.
Thanks guys. I know I should go for it...but I can't. I'm extremely shy when it comes to making moves on a guy (unless I'm in a relationship)...and besides...I was the last one to mention the movie and ask him what time he wanted to see it. HE was the one who said that this week wasn't good, and that next week would be better. He needs to step up to the plate. It's his turn. If he doesn't, he's either (a) too shy, or (b)truly not as interested as I thought. Either way, it's a losing situation.
sigh...
sigh...
Thank you, Siren! :-) Ain't it the truth, girlfriend? We girls gotta hang tough.
Update -- so today turned out to be my last day at the job (starting my new one in a couple of weeks). So when I told the Scorp today was my last day (instead of tomorrow as originally planned)...I cannot believe the look of pain that came over his face. I mean -- I have never, ever in my entire life seen a guy look that sad! The emotion that washed over his face was amazing. It lasted just a little while, but it really affected me way deep down. He then insisted I give him my home e-mail addy and he gave me his. Then he brought up the movie again, and asked if we could see it this week. lol! So you're 100% right, girl. So we'll see.
And yeppers -- I understand that male Scorp thing about jealousy. Funny thing, being a Cap myself, I don't mind it. lol
So how's your love life going? You're a Pisces and they're one of the best, so I can't imagine too shabby. 😉

Hey, Siren & Kenny:
Siren: Thanks, thanks! It's working, girl! LOL! Read below. About your love life -- dang. I had no idea ol' Saturn did that. 😢 I should know, right? After all, it's my ruling planet...but things are gonna get real good for you, real fast. Wow. TWO YEARS. Yikes. lol You'll have to let me know when things start getting fun and breezy again. 😄
Kenny -- oh, Lordy -- they ARE a handful, aren't they? LOL I've actually dated two Scorps before this one. Well, not really dated. In both instances I was right off relationships (hmmm...seems to be the situation now, too...scary), and with the first Scorp we were, again, really good friends. He kinda stayed my friend for six months (he knew I was getting rid of a boyfriend) and I kinda, sorta knew he liked me, but there was nothing ever overt, which I appreciated. Then one night he asked if i had totally broken up with my boyfriend (a Cap - what a disaster THAT relationship was - two Caps together) and we had one two many and ended up at his place where he pounced (but in a real nice way). I was STUNNED, but found it enjoyable, until I freaked out and ran away. He got really upset and kept calling me but I said it was too soon and that I was still hung up on my ex-boyfriend (truth). The friendship faded after that. Then another Scorp was a friend of a friend who I thought was interested in my friend. Turns out he wasn't -- it was me -- you could have knocked me over with a feather. lol
But I loved that story about your Scorp. How romantic is that?! I love it! A year later? He pined for you a year! That's what I'm finding out with Scorp men. They are a little too patient. lol
Anyway, I emailed my Scorp friend today (late) and said, "Hey. Are we gonna see this movie? Cuz I'm going out of town then you're going on vacation." Didn't hear from him all day, and then I went to the mall with my mom. Got home around 9pm, and guess who showed up on my caller ID? LOL! Didn't leave a message on my machine, though. And we never exchanged numbers, just emails. Guess he looked me up. So I called him back, and said, "Did you call me?" He laughed and said "Yeah." So we talked and laughed about stuff and I said, "We gonna do this movie, or what?" He said, "Oh yeah I want to." So now we're going tomorrow night. I guess in a way this is good. There's no heavy pursuing in either end, yet we are both happy to give and take. Suffice to say I'd be much happier if he was doing all the work. 😄
Later, girls...thanks for the input...and if you ever need advice...please count on me!

lol They are all stalkers, but rather than creeping me out, it makes me feel wanted. Sick probably, but it's the truth. If you ever hear some strange sounds coming from the brush in your backyard, that'll be your Scorp all dressed in black with a pair of binoculars. 😉

ROFLMAO @ you guys! LOL! And about tonight, the Scorp, and the movies...ACK!!!!! Girls, listen to this. What a WEIRD night! So I pick him up outside of his (my former) work...and we are laughing and joking and talking like always. Anyway, we get to the theatre, and I park in the lot (it's $ 5.00), and when we get out he says he'll pay me back for the parking when he gets change. I'm, like, "don't worry about it." So we get in line to buy the tickets and he goes first so I'm waiting to see if he'll purchase both our tickets. Hell, no. lol "One for Star Wars, please." HAHAHA So of course I buy my own ticket. Then we go into the theatre, and he says "Where do you want to sit?" I say, "whereever you want to sit...it's your choice." So he says, "how about the back?" I'm thinking that's a good sign. 😄
WRONG.
We sit down and the previews start, and we are talking about the different movies and I mention that new horror flick "Dark Water." We both love horror movies. We both agree it would be great to see it. So the movie starts up and immediately he angles his body as far away from me in his seat that he possibly can. I am FLABBERGASTED. I mean...I'm hardly the type of girl to pounce on anyone...let alone make a move! He was sitting beside the wall, and if he got any further away from me he would have been INSIDE the wall. lol I was highly insulted. This is the same guy who flirted with me all the time at work and stared at me etc., etc. He seating position did not change the entire time...including folding his arms across his chest in a defensive position. So we watch the movie and it ends and we talk about how much we liked it, blah, blah, blah. It's now 9:15pm, so I say (out of courtesy): "You hungry?" He says, "Well, it's a work night and I have an hour train ride, so no." LOL! Honest Scorpio! So I drive him down to the metro (train), and I say (completely friendly, no other implication): "Hey. We have to catch Dark Water when it comes out." He says, "Well, I don't know, I'll think about it." ——? Then he says, "You have next week off until you start the new job, right?" I say, "Yep." (He's gonna be out of town all next week at his brother's wedding.) Then he adds, "Well, have a great time during your time off!" Gets his briefcase, and hops out of the car.
OMG. LOLOL I'm just sitting there shaking my head in disbelief. What in the HELL WAS ThAT?!?! Girls, what is he thinking?! OMG did he just want someone to go with him to see Star Wars? LOL!
That's it. No more. He's driving me over the edge. No more contact. God bless 'im.

I don't know.He is a dude and it's star wars so maybe it was just to see star wars lol.Who knows, guys are strange sometimes.
Thanks, ladies...that's exactly what I was thinking. The only other thing I can think of is that I'M the one who is still married...but he knows I'm getting separated. I know for a fact he's not married, doesn't have a girlfriend, etc. He is really shy. Maybe he's freaking because I'm still married. But that part about not paying my way really floored me. And I'll tell you why -- when he had something good happen to him recently, I bought him a little pastry, then he asked me to help him with his resume, which I did (took a night out from my time to do it)...etc. Now, we're not talking a guy who is really hot and who has women chasing after him, so I know a lot of girls are doing him a lot of favors. lol Ah, well. Live and learn. It just really hurt me...unless he is freaking out about my still being married. If that's the case, it's understandable, but if he's not strong enough to deal with what I'm going through, then it's not meant to be.
But he*l, the part where he closed himself off to me so vehemently during the movie, that was just bizarre and pretty insulting. He could have just sat there like a normal human being. *sigh*

Whoops -- should have been "I know a lot of girls are NOT doing him favors."
Yep, Candle, you're 100% right. Thanks, hon. I guess it just unsettles and intrigues me when someone exhibits bizarre behavior -- maybe I should have continued my degree in psychology rather than liberal arts. 😉 Nope, not moving -- but you're right -- the changes going on in my life right now are fast and furious. And I know it's very unhealthy for me to focus on anything but that. I'm probably sublimating rather than face them head on. Thanks for helping to get me back on track. You're cool. :-)
What a LOSER!!! I think when someone said he saw someone there, that might be the case. Maybe someone from where you used to work? I mean, he wanted to sit in the back...which usually = you won't be watching the movie. 😉 Most Scorpio men don't waste any time getting to the touchy-feely, so I think something happened between the time you sat down and the time the movie started. Just my .02. Not paying for the movie...GRRR! LAME! Lose that loser, baby.
Well this mesage will be for dorothygail, cause im a scorpion male and for me I think u should be carefull with male scorpions cause scorpio is just the second sign of this zodiac the first was the phoenix. and the reason for this is that most people who are born under the sign tend to be very dangerous. In sense of everything actually male scorpions have the tendencies to like you very much and suddenly dissappears into thin air. Well at any rate your guys just suck!
I see someone else has joined me in the Wizard of Oz theme. 🙂 Good luck with your Scorp.
Hey girls (and patron)...
Thanks for all the input! I've just about given up on him. Did I tell you I lost my cell phone in the theatre (I'm assuming, because when I got home it was not in my pocket). So that night (after I had dropped him off at the train) I e-mailed him and said, "Guess who lost her cell phone? I'm assuming it is on the floor of the theatre. Anyway, have a good time on your vacation." Then I left for my mini-vacay the next day (just got back Monday night). He went on vacay this morning (Tuesday). Of course I haven't heard a word from him. Didn't even answer the e-mail. This is the same guy who insisted we exchange e-mail addresses, hunted down my home phone number, etc. Now I'm getting pee-oed. I've had my share of bizarre men before...but never six months of intense flirting, getting to know me, wanting to keep in touch and then disappearing. Look. I KNOW I bathed before that stupid movie...so it wasn't that. 😉
Oh, and along the lines of the Scorps and subterfuge -- not only did he weed out my home phone number -- he's mentioned several times the exact location of my apartment building. It's just three blocks from my former (his present) job, and everyone there knew the general location, but the Scorp knows the EXACT BUILDING and made reference to it the night we went to the movies.
LOL

Bet he's got your cell phone too.....
(((((Siren))))) I wouldn't doubt it! lol! Just got back from having dinner with my mom. Guess who finally returned my e-mail from a week ago? Very short, sweet, and to the point. "Hope you found your phone. I didn't hear anything drop. I have blah, blah, blah to do tomorrow. Hope you're enjoying your week off." I also got the dates wrong when he was going out of town. He's going on vacay next week.
And you know what? No way on God's green earth am I returning his e-mail tonight or tomorrow. I'm taking everyone's advice about Scorpio men...let him wonder why I'm not returning it immediately. He may be very shy...but he's still a Scorpio. 😉
Thanks, everyone, for all the Scorp advise and warnings. Egads. Thanks too, Patron -- being a dangerous Scorpio male yourself -- and Toto2 😉.

OH MY GOD! I have laughed so much reading this topic!! So many similarities.... I liked a Scorp guy... asked him out. He was soon to leave town on business got back... didn't call! When I saw him next he behaved totally normal and all but no reference to the date. So we met a few times after that amongst mutual friends. Months later in a drunken night out with friends, I asked him again.... a few days later... he asked me back....I had to visit my brother and his wife in another state that week so I told him I'd call or e-mail him when I got back. We discussed the date then on the phone and decided we would do it at a time convenient for the both of us. So fine... I called him a couple of times, his schedule was too full! And he had too much on his hands... busy at work... yadad yada and one day when I called him, I asked him to call me back some time and he said he never calls anyone, people call him... that just put me off.... so I never called again!
And to this day everytime we meet, he stares and all and it's just plain weird! LOL... they're still something there but nothing ever comes of it. And I've just about had enough of being the forward one. And about the date not coming about routine Scorpio's do... LOL... I had no idea it was a Scorpio thing. I thought this guy just did it or something...
