So the company I work for does great things and we make a lot of impact in the lives of our clients. But sometimes I get disappointed in the dysfunction within the company because we could be doing so much better but because the company has a tendency to hire:

- Unqualified people
- People only there for a paycheck
- People who want to do as little as possible
- People who simply don't care about the work we do

For me and for a lot of people in my department, we truly care about the work we do and the clients we have and we work hard everyday unlike a lot of the people in the company. My department works in a satellite office in the local area meaning our offices are not in the corporate office building.

One of my biggest peeves is the corporate office (they don't see clients, they deal with more of the operational/administrative tasks for the company) is the location of where most of the aforementioned people work. They are also the ones since my department is the most local to them I guess, they are also the ones who contact us literally every hour on the hour or stopping by every hour on the hour to ask for advice on their own jobs/projects/workload and take up our time and space but yet when we need their help...they rarely do so and most of the time are incapable of doing so. They have also done nothing to grow the company because they really don't know what they are doing and its sad to see and know this.

ore recently the marketing staff for the company who work in the corporate office came up with this idea/event that would show support to the clients of the company. I found it offensive for several reasons:

- THey only selected clients that come from our department (not other departments) which they should know will create jealousy from the other departments and the assumption about "favoritism" plus they aren't recognizing other businesses which other clients may be offended by how they picked all clients from the local area

- It's also offensive becuase the staff in the corporate office honestly do not care about any of the clients of the company. Sometimes when clients are in their building, they don't say anything to them. Not a hello, not an introduction, not a happy veteran's day...nothing. All they do is sit in their cubicles or offices and focus on their individual projects, not working as a team or helping each other. THe only time they really talk to each other is when one of them wants to gloat.

Anyway my point is, for certain staff members to come up with the idea to show support and visit client's businesses and wants to invite staff in the company to join in, is offensive. They really don't care about the people. If they do, they would be more involved in what we do more often.

THe other thing that is kind of confusing for me is one of my colleagues, the ones who help me manage the department i work with helped them create a list of the clients they could visit and said it was a great idea and yadda yadda and said he'd may even show up to the "event". When he gets frustrated everyday about how much the staff members in the corporate office don't care and yet here they are helping the corporate office. He has even in the past invited them to feel free and sit in when we have client meetings. Of course no one in the corporate office took him up on his offer. In alot of ways I get why he's doing it, but I guess what I don't get is why does he even bother when in the end its not going to change who they are as a person. He can't get them to care more than they already don't yet he still does it.

Can anyone explain to me the logic. I really don't like being offended and disappointed in things that I think they are doing for "recognition", I just want to be able to not be so offended by things like this but it does offend me on a personal level.
