that's the trouble with having expectations really. they inevitably lead to some kind of depression when they aren't met. this has been something that has plagued me throughout my life but i finally learned that there's nothing wrong with hoping or wanting a desired outcome but as soon as you 'expect' it you kinda pin all your hopes on that expectation and work the scenario through in your mind to way beyond that expectation being met.

that's what i used to do anyway...in my mind a certain series of events would take place and i would expect a certain result and so when things didn't pan out my way it always left me feeling like....well wtf do i do now? cos all my eggs were in that goddamn basket!!!

i've worked mainly in finance...risk management...where expectations have absolutely no place cos an expectation blinds you to the risks and invariables involved in whatever situation you're dealing with.

i believe very strongly in cause and effect. the cause being the action and the effect being the consequence. if you pour boiling water on yourself, you will suffer a burn...that kinda thing. unfortunately, when you're dealing with human interaction the cause/effect scenario becomes very complicated because there are a myriad of causes behind the way a person acts and so you can't ever accurately predict an outcome which is why having expectations in that respect are pointless.

belief is what you need 🙂
