I don't understand the sudden aloofness from her?

We were messaging on the weekend until I jokingly showed her an outfit of a retro 1960's type fur coat tuxedo that I said I'd wear to a formal function we were going to together. She never replied and I got an amused message from a female friend that she had messaged saying she was worried what I'd be wearing to this event; bear in my this scorpio girl never messages anyone let alone in this case about me.
So come around the week and when she sees me, this is the first time she has smiled at me saying hi although it was very shy, broken and awkward and she looked away. When I jokingly brought up the tuxedo again we all had a good laugh (everyone is in on it except her) and she just looked at my female friend (from above) with that 'oh no someone save me' look. Bear in mind that we're all as friends, going to this function together so why is she thinking this?
As we walk to class we walk ahead of everyone and start having a little chat as her friends start their little gossip and laugh.
I guess this may all sound normal yet I got that feeling of aloofness today I haven't gotten in a while. Normally she is not too bad with eye contact and being more physically closer to me but she seemed distant again; eye contact avoided unless I was not looking and then she'd look away.

"Bear in mind," "the fur tux".
Bear in mind, the fur tux.
Bare in mind, the fur tux.

Thanks guys, this is not exactly a prank on her but simply some fun teasing. I am obviously rocking up in a slim james bond style dinner suit. I guess some times I know I have to tone down my eccentricities as even I am at war at how crazy I can get.
A side note, are scorpios generally bad repliers when messaging? It has come to a point where I've found her letting a conversation die out and waiting for me to initiate a few days down the track. While I don't mind doing the majority of the initial chasing (at the moment it is roughly 80/20), I am struggling with her not replying at times. This is usually how I go abouts things at times and it simply leaves me head scratching and powerless!
Yet when we meet up in person, everything is smooth sailing.

Fuzzy Wuzzy was a bear. Fuzzy Wuzzy had no hair. Where?
Maybe she thinks humans wearing fur is disgusting.
