not necessarily no. for me anyhow. it definitely is a defence mechanism but i can also appear to go 'silent' on someone when i'm just too busy concentrating on something else. usually work stuff. don't know if it's virgo rising or not but i'm a total workaholic and have to be 'in the zone' to be successful. my work is very labour intensive in the thinking department and i just can't multi-task in my head which means cutting all emotional interference out completely....even leisurely, friendly interference sometimes...it won't fit in my pea-brain with all the other stuff i have to think about, lol.

when i'm in that zone, time can pass and i lose sense of it during which time, i've usually alienated a ton of people. but if i go silent on someone, it doesn't usually mean i don't like 'em any more or they've hurt me...i've just stuffed it all in the pending tray in my head and when there's a window of opportunity, i'll get back to them. on occasion, it's been way too late and i have to admit to completely forgetting about people who were once very good friends....like literally forgetting they exist and they've never done a thing to hurt me...i hate that...makes me ashamed 😢

having said that, if someone's hurt me, i disappear completely. i hate it. makes me feel pathetic and humiliated.

scorps are basically emotionally lazy and we take ages to process stuff. or is that just me, lol. sometimes i just don't get the significance of something that's happened until aaaages after...i'm a bit slow on the uptake when it comes to others and their feelings...another bad thing 😢

oh well....that lightened the mood....not! think i'll go eat worms now.

I guess what I mean is...when you are hurt, for whatever reason, do you just shut down?

My scorp moon is so reactive, I usually express my pain verbally and sometimes visually. I want to "puke it out" as they say. I can't keep it bottled up, I have to fight this urge quite a lot. I find it terribly difficult to restain my emotions in times of deep emotion.

bgp: the direct answer to your question is yes. if someone has hurt me i will not speak or communicate with them in any way. it's too humiliating. the fear of everything coming out in front of them so they see your weaknesses laid bare in front of them. no thanks. inflict serious pain...and it really has to be serious....and i'll cut you out like cancer and then use my mind as chemotherapy to make sure you never enter my head again. i don't even think of revenge cos that implies you give a shit still anyway imo. it's like *poof*...gone. and if i did happen to bump into you, i would absolutely not acknowledge you in the slightest. i wouldn't even spit on you if you were on fire.

this is a really personal admission so please don't blast me for it......but i have trouble speaking to my son who lives in the uk with his father and has done since last september. i'm still so heartbroken that he's not here and hearing his voice destroys me....thinking about him, which i do daily, brings me to tears every single time. i feel so selfish and i do make contact with him cos i'm his mother and it's my job. we mostly chat on IM cos the sound of his voice gets me started.

the worst thing about this is that it's just the way my mother behaves with me and my siblings but i at least have faith that my son knows i love the bones of him.
