I've got really eclectic tastes and listen to a "little bit of everything." Why I love a song varies. Sometimes it's the lyrics, sometimes it's the music, sometimes it's both.
I can get really "lost" in Chopin. Something in his compositions just "pulls me in" and I listen to him for HOURS. Everything is so sweet and so simple in his work.
I'm also crazy about vintage heavy metal. My older brother used to listen to it and he got me really "switched on" to AC/DC, K.I.S.S., Iron Maiden, and Judas Priest. Then I fell for some of the "Glam Metal/ Hair bands" of the 80's.
Just FYI, old ladies look REALLY TROUBLED when 8-year-old girls in pink sweaters can belt out "You Got Another Thing Comin'" word for word.
Love rockabilly and earlier generations of rock and pop. You know, back in the day when musicians and singers actually had to be talented to succeed in the music industries? The pop scene and hip-hop don't appeal to me so much, but there's a few I like here and there.
I also like "alternative" style s like The Cure, AFI, etc. in moderation. If the music or the singing is too distorted, it just becomes noise to me.
Also can't decide who I like best: Frank Sinatra, Harry Connick Jr, or Michael Buble. They all sound great and distinctive in the same early pop style .
