Curious what type you Scorpios fall under here:

https://www.16personalities.com/personality-types

I'm a Cancer and INTJ. Would love to meet a Scorpio ENTP some day, I think we'd hit it off! Big Grin
God, another INTJ.

You know, for a super rare personality type, it sure does seem very common.
So. What traits do you have that make you INTJ-like?

Only online. We all exist on the Web. In real life, not so much.
INFJ, determined with multiple tests including the paid one.

It fits me very well.

Funny you should post this, I've been wanting to start one myself. In the recent month Ive been doing so much research into personality types after speaking to my friend who opened my eyes to this all.

I'm ISFP. From what I've seen, I don't think thats common for Scorps, though.

Agree. I think this is one of the more common types, despite what is said.

At work, in a team of 6, 3 are INTJ. One being my boss who always boasts about being "OCD". Its obnoxious, really. Not my favorite type.

Cool - INFJ petites unite. smile

It depends, but I usually either get INFJ or INTJ as a test result.

Although I seem to get INFJ a shade more often than the latter.

I've also ranged on Introverted/Extroverted and Feeler/Thinker.

But I had it last done with life coach and more extensive testing, resulting in ENFJ as my core.

When you are in grey areas, you have a core but range depending on age and phases in life.

Hmm Infinite8, that is a concept I very much agree with. To follow along such lines of thinking I truly believe my core to be INFJ.

The changes in results often occur when I happen to take the tests after dramatic changes have occurred in my life whether it be events that have happened to me or a result of me taking a different pathway.

The last time I took this test, which was quite some time ago, it resulted in INFJ.

Simply imagine the great times we have between an INFJ and an ENTP.

So true! I'm usually very social and have never done forums. DXP has been the only one and a new experience for me. It allows me to exercise other parts of me that are usually ignored.

I find that too with this forum. I'm introverted, but friendly. Online forums appeal to me, so I've been a member of other forums, but DXP is unique (both in good and bad ways, lol).

I agree... One just needs to be extra diligent at picking threads to read, because some just are so negative and depleting - not worth reading. Others can be very inspiring and make you express a thought at deeper levels by writing/typing it. There is a pause before action/reaction that I find therapeutic and it helps my ability to analyze a situation, my behavior or my past. I really love when that happens!

I learn a lot too... As you have seen, I have learned from you! Those are great moments as well!!

For an introverted person, this might be something you do more often, but it helps you socialize with a distance. It's also great in that sense... I can see that.

I find the same thing on this site. I've learned what to avoid and what to pay more attention to more. The pause helps me as well.

I've learned from you too - great moments for sure. smile And given what a bad rep our sign can have (unfairly) it's great to see positive examples of what Scorpio people can be like, vs the stereotyped negative version.

Yeah, that makes sense. You must be bordering on the Feeler side but close to Thinker like me. When you go through tough times or moments that require you to be on your toes (no time to get emo)... You become a thinker.

I'm like that as well! And at work, I am more of a thinker - solutions come first before feelings. Even when colleagues come to me, I refute/block the emo side and focus on fixing the problem.

I think you have an asset in your hands ?

You took the words out of my mouth!

Yes, during a crisis I have been called as cold as steel. In fact, the automatic mental shift to a thinker helps keep the inner emotional turmoil under wraps.

It is a coping mechanism as much of a work ethic?

Well, this would be an asset to the both of us and to anyone who are similar to us in kind. Winking

Lol... I think that because I border on I/E, I think I could be OK with a borderline Introvert. But, I am an extreme J and P's can drive me nuts sometimes!!! Last minute changes, planning NOTHING. Omg... My husband and I really worked on a couple years of negotiating a balance there before we saw the calm!! ?Hahahaha....

I can only imagine for you as well...lol! I think I would also have a hard time with an extreme Extrovert. I love socializing and get energy from it... But I'm also intuitive and sensitive to my environment and need lots of alone time to recuperate. It's a balance act. Fortunately, my husband is the same ✨??✨

I would imagine him to be a borderline, rather than an extreme Extrovert. Time has really mellowed him out, he is turning out to be rather tasteful, like fine wine. He really enjoys interacting with others in a positive environment, I believe he gets energy from it but he is not one to be a constant spotlight hogger. He seems to enjoy simply being in that social bubble as a participant, with the spotlight focus on him from time to time.

Since I am an Introvert myself, as much as I enjoy socialising on my own terms and schedule. Normally, socialising drains my emotional and mental energy. I have an internal sponge, osmosis occurs often when my source of positivity is leeched where as the energy of others gets taken into my own. It takes quite a bit of time to recuperate and that is always a pain to deal with especially when there are avmillion other tasks to be completed each and every day.

My SO and I, we meet in the middle somehow. Despite our vast differences there are a lot of commonalities found in our opposite traits. We neutralise each other out but dear god, as you and your husband probably went through the same!Laughing

In the very beginning, it was a not a pretty sight as we argued, fought, conflicted our way to the harmony we have reached today. I believe all couples truly have to work to create and build the peace of harmony between them.
(cont'd)

After all, any healthy relationship includes two people who should be individuals in their way of thinking with opinions of their own. To learn to mesh these two often different people together to create something beautiful, out of that madness comes a miracle.

A balancing act indeed, we did not see the come until after many a mistakes and until we finally accepted / come to terms with all the nuances of each other. We now know how to use our strengths in order to cancel out the weaknesses of the other, and to make use of this!

The long test, paid, is more thorough and generates more accurate results, IMO.

Also, people can answer differently if they're in, or recently out of, training that has required them to think in certain ways that aren't natural to them. The education system in most places rewards thinking that isn't natural to everyone but some people can squeeze what's needed out of themselves for a time to get good grades. That was the case with me. I could get good grades in school but it was a very unpleasant experience to force myself to be constricted and uncreative. I'm glad to be away from that environment.

IQ tests reward a certain kind of thinking. Based on a numbering sequence I knew about, I correctly answered an IQ test question, but it wasn't the context that the test wanted, so it was wrong. No big deal, I was taking the test for fun to see how limited it might be, and sure enough, it was.

Virgo - ENFP
ENFP! But I believe I'm an ambivert.
Wow! I hadn't expected this much interest in the topic. I'm glad to see it got conversations going.

I fit INTJ perfectly, and it becomes more and more apparent as I mature. As a Cancer I identify strongly with the high emotions and cold shell we're known for. As a youth I was very emotionally compromised, and it affected most every aspect of my life. As I have grown I have gotten control of my emotions, though they are just as strong, and developed the rigidly rational outlook of a Thinking type.

I identify strongly with the concept of being: "A paradox to most observers, INTJs are able to live by glaring contradictions that nonetheless make perfect sense – at least from a purely rational perspective. For example, INTJs are simultaneously the most starry-eyed idealists and the bitterest of cynics, a seemingly impossible conflict. But this is because INTJ types tend to believe that with effort, intelligence and consideration, nothing is impossible, while at the same time they believe that people are too lazy, short-sighted or self-serving to actually achieve those fantastic results. Yet that cynical view of reality is unlikely to stop an interested INTJ from achieving a result they believe to be relevant."

I think ENTP would be a perfect match for me because I feel we would connect in our Intuitive Thinking roles of always seeking the truth and "thriving on the process of shredding arguments and beliefs and letting the ribbons drift in the wind for all to see." Our differences of Extroverted/Introverted would complement by getting me out into the world more, and the stronger Thinking over weaker Feeling trait means she won't be offended by my need to be alone sometimes. The Judging/Perceiving traits I have a lesser grasp of, but I think its my Judging trait that makes me so interested in personality profiles like this. I have a friend that fundamentally resists the idea of being labeled, perhaps he's a Perceiving type?

On the point of Cancer/Scorpio; I haven't dated a Scorpio yet, though I have known a few and the sparks were always there. My latest relationship was with a Pisces, 2 years, and we were almost perfect for each other. I ended it very recently because I felt we couldn't connect intellectually, and I felt it was wrong to carry on the relationship with such doubts. I don't think this issue stemmed from any definitive trait of Pisces, just her and I personally.

I won't claim to be a saint, but I'm definitely not the extreme stereotype of a Scorpio either. It's funny, because I know so many female and male Scorpios and out of the females, all are exceptional women. Out of the men, they are amazing too, but I do know a few really bad ones.

Same - I'm not a saint either, but I'm definitely nowhere near the nasty stereotype.

I've had a similar experience with Scorpio women vs Scorpio men - lots of great Scorp men out there, of course, but I've known some quite messed up ones compared to what I've seen with Scorpio women.
