I think the question that needs answering is what are you obsessing about?

When I'm content I don't over think and obsess. When I'm anxious and stressed about something then yes that annoying trait hunts me down and makes me feel (and probably) look deranged.

It's not healthy. I also find reading and writing helps or busy myself with tasks like seeing friends etc.

Staying busy as to not think about stress etc. This is a hard thing to do.. so it's easier said than done.. cause most times I could be extremely busy and the thoughts of whatever I'm going through still happen to cross my mind... It isn't healthy and it'll get the best of you..

I guess the best way to stop overthinking and obsessing over something is to just think it all the way through, and then let it go..

If its about a person.. Just reach out...

This is a hard topic.. :/

Stressing mostly about my impending divorce and my ex being a super ass twat waffle.....

Over thinking in terms of the guys I'm dating now works away and is gone ALL the time. He's a wonderful wonderful man and treats me like gold... but I don't know if my heart can take much more of only seeing him 3 days a month.
Sorry to hear, it's a tough one. Like Ivy said, it's a process we have to go through until we (you) are able to let go. Ride it out but surround yourself with friends and family that love you. It'll help with the anxiety in my opinion. Now is not the time to isolate yourself.

Take care x
