*Philosophy has been of great interest every since I was ten years old -- my need to understand the world and it's many influences was the initial attraction.
The Five Branches are:
Metaphysics -- study of existence
Epistemology -- study of Knowledge
Ethics -- study of action
Politics -- study of force
Esthetics -- study of art
I lean more towards Esthetics, Epistemolgy and Ethics (this is still in development. They are my three Es.
I used esthetices to understand science as it relates to nature and spirituality (not religion). The intellectual elements of science was originally created as an integral part of philosophy. So understanding science kind of helped my understanding of human nature.
Epistemolgy and ethics has helped formed my approach to life and how I view why certain aspects are necessary.
This Shakespearian matches my views signicantly:
"All the world's a stage ...and all the men and women merely players. They have their exits and their entrances, and one man in his time plays many parts,
his acts being seven ages

Just Something I felt like sharing Winking
One of my favourite quotes:
"If the world is a stage, I want to operate the trap door"
Winking
Hmm...I would think that while you are currently living your life you are presently the Director of The Movie of Your Life and at the end when you are reviewing your life movie - you will then be in the audience. Winking
Just a thought....
The Director is a great place to be as you are the one to choose who is on your stage and who must leave stage left -
One of my favorites -

Everyone Can't Be In The Front Row
author unknown
Life is a theatre. Invite your audience carefully.
Not eveyone is healthy enough to have a front row seat in our lives.
There are some people in your life that need to be loved from a distance.
It's amazing what you can accomplilsh when you let go, or at least
minimize, your time wtih draining, negative, incompatible, not-going-anywhere relationships/friendships.
Observe the relationships around you. Pay attention.
Which ones lift and which ones lean ?
Which ones encourage and which ones discourage ?
Which ones are on a path of growth uphill and which ones are going downhill ?
When you leave certain people, do you feel better or feel worse ?
Which ones always have drama, or don't really understand, know or appreciate you ?
The more you seek quality, respect, growth, peace of mind, love and truth around you, the easier it will become for you to decide who gets to sit in the front row and who should be moved to the balcony of your life.
You cannot change the people around you.
But you can change the people you are around.

LOL @ MM,
The world is a massive stage so trap doors are all over ... how do you think some people get do lucky? Hahaha, they know where to locate them Winking
JD,
If you are watching all that's going on around you, then you know more then the players on stage Winking Lets keep this just between us ^_^.

WOW! That's an amazing quote Freebird! It's also very true ... you have just reminded me of a few things Winking
I never suggested that I was one of the players on stage ... oh no.
My role would be cinematographer -- my observations would definately assist JD, who is are appointed director Winking
In life, I have a tendency to observe all that I find intriguing, even if there isn't anything outstanding about it.
A JD and Cappy production proudly presents ....
But we don't have a screenwriter ???????? OOOO, I have an idea who that can be Big Grin His name starts with a B Tongue
OOO good point JD, and my name doesn't start with a B Winking
Oh, yeah you asked whether or not I like Michigan didn't you?
Yes, I do Big Grin However, I wouldn't mind a change, as a matter of fact I will be changes locations soon. However, Michigan will always be where my heart is Winking Canada awesome too, I've been to Toronto, Quebec and Montreal Winking
letting someonelse write the script you might end up watching someonelses movie at the end and might not even know what you're watching
I agree smile Too bad others seem to do the opposite Sad
I do in fact like traveling ... it's the sagitt in me, I am adventurous by nature Winking
I think caps are wanderers...
I am a backpacker in life..travelling alone, obscure places that nobody else dare look..Lifes hidden treasurers...exploring for the deeper meaning..
Yes I would like to think I am. Although procrastination is my biggest weakness at times..like now!..lol..
'I do in fact like traveling ... it's the sagitt in me, I am adventurous by nature '
u know it, cusp buddy. Winking whatever the reason, the mode of travel, no matter how short the distance... i love moving around from place to place, catching the sights and seeing different areas. 'candy for my character' is a nice way of thinking of it. i'll most definitely fall in love with international travel when i finally get to that.
'I think caps are wanderers...'
possibly just out seeking our next golden opportunity for whatever we're bent on?
This is fun!
I want to be everything. The director, the actor, the screenplayer, the light-sound-stage guy, the audience, the doorman, everything on my own play, and let some few selected people came in for a pick.
"You cannot change the people around you.
But you can change the people you are around."
I love that quote. We can also change ourselves and our plays.
