Sign of rebirth.. do you kill to revive?

Two things strike me about Scorpios. They never leave, yet they sabotage. Is this to feel a rebirth? To create a new "life" so to speak? I do know that Scorpios are the sign of rebirth.
I've known two Scorpio's specifically, one female, the other male. Both spent years "torturing" their lovers. On-off, on-off. I love you, I hate you. I'm moving out, I want you back. The female specifically did this to a Sag male for over 4 years. They were actually married. She left him, divorced him and then finally seduced him out of his next marriage, only to marry him again. The whole time she claimed she loved him more than anyone on the planet... I wish I could say that she was an exception, but I've seen it with friends and family for years. Is this a process of rebirth? How can you love someone yet put them through the ringer like that? All the while sabotaging yourself? What do you think the cause is...indecision or deeper?

what scorpios do is for everyone's best interest, so you know they have their own good intentions behind they're decisions but in the long run scorpios are very shallow

interesting...y'know if i were to actually compare the differences from ex's and my husband for astrology comparison sake, yeah. wow, astrology does have, relevance in this. Even for those with strong (stellium) or dominant scorpio in their chart...basically, this need for sabotaging is more like, poking at your loved one, but it is true in the theme of: Will you love me forever, for better or worse or will you leave me because my worse is not a pretty sight. But then i have also witnessed the ugly sides to the other sun signs (venus /mars signs) ect and they're not pretty either. Infact, perhaps more so uglier, in my personal opinion... So, it's more of the formula: do you want this, cause if you do, then this is it. But maybe basically, it's what are you used to in the long run.
however your scenerio describes the zeal of a passionate, tumultous life. S/he wants to have that drama, because life is all about passion (on a subconscious level) and if there's none, what is life then? You go through a series of living, acquiring wealth, or status, or whatever it is you want in life, and then you die.

Everyone is capable of self sabotaging. HOWEVER... I have NEVER met someone with a Scorpio dominate chart or important planet that didn't claim they were self sabotagers. Is it because of bad decision making skills? Feeling of restraint? or just indecision?
To the person who said Scorpio is shallow? I thought Scorpio was the opposite? Care to explain? Even though yo-yo'ing someone isn't very nice, the fact is they can't let go... to me that doesn't seem very shallow at all... just fucked. It's like they want that person, they know they do.... but they just can't seem to make it work. They freak out.
Another thing I have heard all Scorpios say is "I don't know who would put up with me." They aren't very revealing but to me that small statement speaks wonders. The thing is people DO put up with them...hahaha

I'm scorpio dominant & I'm guilty of this smh I do it after I know there's no hope for the relationship as a way to get my revenge, it's because they've wronged me
