Yea, well, today was the first time I'd fainted.
I've been running a fever since Monday and had no appetite. But I still went to work. Today I decided to stay home though. Didn't get out of bed til 5:30 pm to get water and orange juice.
Anyway, I remember going to pour myself a glass of water, then waking up on my kitchen floor with water all over me. So I dragged myself over to the fridge and drank half a carton of orange juice. Wierd. I think I really needed sugar.

So what happened after you passed out? Would you go to the hospital?
I refuse to go to the hospital.

New York is tons of fun.
Shaks, did you get a chance to eat at Chocolate by the Bald Man?

Oh, I've never been there. I didn't even know that existed.
The only Hershey's chocolate I know is in PA.

Yes, twice. It's weird because you don't even know it happens.
The first time was years ago. I was in church and it was terribly hot in there and there was this girl who was talking to me a mile a minute about my engagment. I remember wanting to tell her to stop talking because I felt funny and I know I was looking at her really weird. Next thing I know, I'm being picked up off the floor.
The second time, I had just given birth to my son. Afterwards, I passed out in the bathroom. I don't remember anything except going in there and then hearing a woman calling my name loudly (it gradually got louder and louder) and telling me to "Smell this. Smell This!". Because I was in a dreamlike state, I thought it was a "spritzer lady" offering me to smell a pleasant perfume (like they used to do in the malls). So I smelled it. However, once I did, it was so pungent I almost gagged -- it was some kind of smelling salt that smelled like Ammonia to bring me back to conciousness. Thankfully, I didn't hurt myself in the bathroom when I passed out. But I have NO idea how long I was out before the nurses found me.

SS: i have fainted LOADS!!! i have low blood pressure and a really slow heart rate apparently. i also have to eat regularly otherwise i feel faint. my mother always fainted so there might be something genetic. it used to be blood and stuff that made her faint and with six kids, she was so used to fainting that she used to just lie down when one of us cut ourselves and say it was cos she didn't want to hurt herself when she fainted!!!
i've fainted and had ambulances called cos i fell on something. i remember when i shut my finger in my car door and felt really faint instantly and when i came round, i was being helped up by paramedics with my chin cut open!!
another time, i was tucking a 'throw' into the sofa and ripped my fingernail off completely. i just got that buzzing sensation in my head straight away!!!
fainting is the most horrible thing.

actually, the last time i fainted i really frightened myself. it was at night time and i was experiencing a serious pain in my abdomen. i was lying in bed but i then started vomiting and felt like death. i was just going to call for help and then i must've passed out cos i don't remember anything apart from coming round with the pain gone! thank GOD!!!
fainting when you're on your own is quite dangerous i think.
it's definately something to get checked out by a doctor if it happens frequently.

Thanks, everyone for your well-wishes. I am doing somewhat better. My boyfriend is forcing me to go to the doctor tommorrow. I suppose it's better to be safe than sorry.
Rox, do you have more control over your fainting spells now?
lol@ MM

SS: i think i've just got used to it. i know certain things are likely to make me feel faint and so i just try and avoid them but things like when you're in pain, you can't really prepare for and those are the fainting spells that are the worst cos if you're on your own, then you may have really hurt yourself and god only knows what could happen if you fainted and couldn't call for help.
