Unexpected Scorpio break up

My Scorpio BF of seven months unexpectedly broke up with me a couple of days ago. We woke up, made love, he had coffee and breakfast and then later emailed me that he was sorry and he had left the key under the mat. His break up email (!) said that he was sorry but I just give too much and it is not fair to me. (?)

He and I will be discussing this situation this afternoon. How can I convince him to stay?
