Well, here are some of mine:
Casper David Friedrich-"Wanderer above the Sea of Fog"

Th?odore G?ricault-"The Raft of the Medusa"

Frederick Edwin Church-"Rainy Season in the Tropics"

Hasegawa Tohaku-"Pine Trees"
the 3rd one is so peaceful & calm...
and actually a beautiful picture
He looks like his in a kung-fu stance...
Wow, I really like the first painting Yama posted.

"Disrobing of Christ" by El Greco
Typical El Greco style ; the people are elongated and really bright colors. People tend to either love it or hate it; I love it. Plus he was a progressive painter (notice the women in the foreground, and next to Jesus Tongue; unheard of for his time.)

another version of munch's madonna...I like the other one better though
Sorry about that. My links aren't working properly.
how do you post a pic??????
well... i'll give this a go...
Jean Auguste Dominique Ingres: Jupiter and Thetis

Jupiter fell in love with Thetis, but once he learned that her offspring would one day supercede his father, he would not take Thetis as his wife and lover. This picture shows him imploring him... touching his chin. something that at the time (of the painting?) was kind of taboo... very intimate thing to do. i like the tensions of this painting.
*This picture shows HER imploring him*
Gustav Klimt: The Kiss

Very symbolic and very passionate... her dress adorned with circles (feminine symbol), his with rectangles ('rods'... masculine).
Gary Baseman: Happy Idiot, Pervasive Art, Unattainable Beauty series

it's (his words)"...allegory about desire, longing, sex, the acceptance of man's attraction to unattainable beauty"
Gary Baseman is the man behind the artwork for the Cranium games and the cartoon 'Teacher's Pet'.
Francisco De Goya: Saturn Devouring His Son

His late work... probably the freakiest piece of his career. What can i say... i have a morbid side and i appreciate the tortured psychology in it.
Mine is also Vincent Van Gogh Starry Night...so tangible!!! I am also keen on Monet and Dali...but i like some the new age fantasy artists...very nice!
Have a look see here

Yummy, i've seen her artwork on notecards... very very cool... the bounty of femininity. imagine a her work as a mural on a wall in your livingroom... ooooooh smile

scroll down just a lil on that page and there's an html tag that you can copy, paste, insert the url for your image in-between the quotation marks, and presto... happy posting!
My idol.
My favorite painter is Hundertwasser. You can see the Klimt and Schiele influences in his work. Both whom I adore.
I also love Modigliani.
