Go, Blue Jays!
smile
Great Game last night Jays, YOU ARE HOTT!! What an awesome run ..
...eight runs in the seventh
Update: MINNEAPOLIS -- There are moments that separate the elite from the ordinary. Situations arise that cause some to melt under the pressure. Then, there are others like Blue Jays pitcher Roy (Doc) Halladay, who shows time and time again why he has evolved into one of baseball's true aces.
Consider the fifth inning of Toronto's 9-2 romp over Minnesota on Thursday night. Clinging to a one-run lead, with no way of knowing that the Jays were going to break out with seven runs in the seventh inning, Halladay found himself in a critical situation: runners on first and second base with no outs for the Twins.
Given the way the game had unfolded to that point, Halladay knew that every run was precious, and he could ill afford to let Minnesota claw its way back into the contest. So, Halladay did what he does so well. He was immune to the pressure of the circumstances, and he used 10 pitches to reel off three consecutive strikeouts.
"That's pretty amazing, isn't it?" Blue Jays manager Cito Gaston marveled.
Not long after that turn of events, the Blue Jays (8-3) mounted their seven-run rally against the Twins' bullpen, pounding out six of their 14 hits in the seventh inning to sprint to a 9-1 lead. Veteran first baseman Kevin Millar led the charge with a grand slam, following up on Marco Scutaro's two-run blast earlier in the inning.

14-0 Over the ChiSox... That's insane. 21 hits sprayed across the field. I'm glad I caught that game on tv. Been a long time since this team was good, not since the 90s. This team was due. Snider and Lind are raking the ball.
Halladay goes down with a groin injury... GODDAMNIT!!! Right when I was on the Jays bandwagon too.
Dodgers, Red Sox Emerge As Halladay Frontrunners
30th July, 2009 - 2:38 pm
Yahoo! - The Los Angeles Dodgers and Boston Red Sox have become the frontrunners to acquire Toronto Blue Jays ace Roy Halladay, according to baseball sources.
Blue Jays GM J.P. Ricciardi has asked for as many as a half-dozen prospects in return for Halladay.
Starters Chad Billingsley(notes) and Clayton Kershaw(notes) have not been offered, and neither have any of the team??s starting position players.
Boston's offer includes top pitching prospect Clay Buchholz, as Yahoo! Sports reported Wednesday. The Blue Jays also have been given the choice of reliever Justin Masterson, Triple-A pitcher Michael Bowden or Double-A first baseman Lars Anderson, with lesser prospects from the farm system filling out the Boston offer.
Thoughts? Anyone?
Scotty Rolen traded to the Cincy Reds for Edwin Encarnacion and some relievers... I don't hate but I don;t like it either. This was a straight up salary dump if anything.
Great game against Boston, great year too Jays. Now, time for the BEST sport on earth. Hockey!!! Winking Winking
Aaron Hill and Adam Lind. That is all.
They traded Doc Halladay to Philly a few days ago. A sad day in Jays history but I'm glad he's finally playing for a contender. All those wasted years on a ballclub mired in futility. You really felt for the guy. Great, great player and the consummate professional throughout his career. Never complained and just went out there and did his job. It's not everyday you get to see, arguably, the best pitcher in baseball of this era throw every fifth day.
Yeah, wishing the BEST for Halladay, hope he gets to play and use his talent alot more! Jays will surely miss him, but we had him for awhile, and not every team can say that!! ..proud wink*
They won 3-1 against the Rangers. I managed to catch that game (no Red Sox today) and was happy to see V-dub smacking another dinger. The guy is a notorious slow starter so having him batting cleanup with this hot start can only mean good things. Ricky Romero also pitched a great game today mixing his pitches up and having Cito come out to talk to him the the 7th really reset the focus back in. Too bad he didn't get the win as the team rallied back in the 8th and he was ineligible. In other news we just picked up Hechevaria and he's headed to Florida for a physical. Supposedly he's supposed to be the second coming of Jeter. Really liking what Anthopolous is doing with the team right now. The Jays have a bright future ahead of them.
WOOH! Sweep against the Indians today!
Currently leading the league in homeruns with 76! WHAT. THE. FUCK!?!?! This is crazy. I caught the TOR/ARZ game where Encarnacion hit 3 out and with Bautista hitting one too. This is such a fun team to watch now. Up and coming pitching with timely hitting. Feels like 92-93 all over again.
