Control Freaks?

It seems like I try to control every aspect of my life. Relationships included. I get tunnelvision when I want something very badly. When things are out of my control, I get very frustrated sometimes depressed and need lots of space. The one thing that I have found that appeases this need for control and is within my realm of control is my weight training and diet regimen. (I used to do competitive bodybuilding.)

Are we bulls all control freaks?

I know I am, and I'll flat out admit it.

Hmmmm, I don't know if I would say that I am a control freak really, because I don't try to control other people; however, I do have high standards and expectations for myself, so if I can't control something in that realm, then I do become upset. When I think of control freaks, it conjures up in my mind this Cancer chick I used to be friends with. She tried to control EVERYTHING. Her friends, her coworkers, her gym friends. Any interactions, she ALWAYS had to be in control of it. She could never truly enjoy herself because she was always worried about every little detail of any and everything. I chose not to live my life that way - how fraking exhausting.

^ That I don't do. I don't crack the whip as far as that one goes. There are things I expect from other human beings. Common courtesy, respect, etc. I should think being the puppet master would be a bit OTT. Waste of energy to me.
My environment I control like a tyrant. That is my house, my work. I even extend that outward to my feelings to an extent. Anything overwhelming like loss of a loved one on any level ( and in relationships too, I don't just mean my daughter ) I wall up and shore off. It's very hard for me to share that with someone because if there is a crack in my defensive line it would all come out. Not only that, it is mine to shoulder, I am the one who knows it best. Frustrating for someone who would like to help me in that regard, I'm sure, but it is what it is.

Thanks for your responses ladies. I'm not as articulate as some of you. Some of your posts are downright poetic. VB your written language is eloquent. Maybe I need to clarify. Control freak may not be the right term, but I definitely have a tendency to push things, situations in my life that I wish to go well or that I want, so as not to upset the status quo of my life. I am very stringent about my daily routine and get rattled if it is upset in anyway. I'm also not big on drama. I just have this need to ensure smooth sailing in my life and for my loved ones.

How funny VB! Takes a lot to get this bull stampeding mad, but once I'm there better watch out! Temper, temper...

I'm essentially over 50% Fire, so Bull I am, but I've also a temper that flashes like heat lightning. Then it's all green stars, yellow horseshoes, blue diamonds and purple hearts. 😉 AA is also a stench muffin and needs noogies. 😄

That is correct, because we know we can't sit around waiting for something to happen, we have to MAKE it happen. Some people are blessed (or cursed) with a silver spoon in their mouth and seem to just step into good luck. Well, Tau's typically have to make their own luck. BUT, from my experience, the rewards feel/taste that much sweeter, because we know we have earned every little thing we have.

This definitely sounds like me... I am aware of it now and try to control it before it starts to get out of hand...

You are very healthy. My sister is a Leo, a perfectionist and tries to control everything in work and in life. She is pretty accomplished and has high standards, so that's the good side of it. On the downside, the family finds it hard to live with her in the past.
