oh I remember the cheesecake invite ... spaghetti is easy and quick and easy - make it with hot sausage and with side of salad and garlic toast - all easy ... use good sauce and lots of garlic and pepper and oregano ... a good yummy dressing on the salad - cheesecake for desert and all will be well
Spaghetti is too... idk ..even though you usually can't go wrong with pasta and garlic bread.. oh wait garlic...
A homemade pot pie mmmm I think thats what I'm making tonight. It's actually really easy. Hardest part may be putting the crust on top without it breaking.
Tacos Or taco salad is pretty easy and yummy
Curry does sound good but you have to make sure that's something he enjoys.. but who doesn't like curry??

I don't like curry - and you could do the prep ahead and/or just make meat sauce instead of meatballs - why not show him from the get go that you can cook - even if he is Italian - that usually doesn't mean anything
whatever you decide, it should not be something new - I would totally hose it up being nervous lol

Curry is risky because you might not know the level of spice he likes and would prefer. Might I suggest something that wouldn't have imposing smells (as curry surely does.)
If he's a meat eater, you can start him off with a glass of mint and lemon infused iced water with a salad (including croutons and freshly crumbled cheese), homemade dressing (I love balsamic vinaigrette or strawberry vinaigrette but go with what you like), and a homemade shrimp c0cktail.
For the main dish, a lime and fresh rosemary chicken with fragrant clove rice and a light gravy, and freshly blended fruit juice made with sparkling water (I don't drink alcohol, but you can serve that if you'd like!) You can even serve tender baby potatoes.
Then for dessert, your cheese cake!

I didn't read what anyone else wrote, but pasta is way too heavy before cheesecake.
Make him something simple like chicken or steak with roasted veggies and some rosemary bread.

I have a great, get you laid salmon recipe, that's what I would go with, with wild rice or pearled couscous - crusty bread, salad and then finish with the cheesecake. I love pasta but - is this just for dinner or are we hoping for a slumber party after this - because pasta can put you to sleep, might not be the effect you are wanting.
