Brown is a creative legend. Ranked 7th in Rolling Stones list of 100 all time greatest artists. "Godfather of Soul", Founding Father of Funk, referred to as "the most hard working man in show businesss", has been sampled more than any other recording artist, and was a huge influence on hip-hop during it seminal years - "Funky Drummer" being one of the most sampled break beats of all time.
Not sure if anyone has seen _Get On Up_, but it is amazing. Chadwick Boseman's (Sag) portrayal of Brown is predicted to win an Oscar, and IMO, is as good as, if not better, than Jamie Fox (also Sag) as Ray Charles. The film is also the perfect portrayal of a Leo Moon - the ego, pride, and tyranny - particularly in the dynamic with Leo Sun Bobby Byrd, who gave Brown his start and supported him throughout his career, but who Brown soon overshadowed and controlled in many ways.
"...he could be a tyrant. he could be generous. he could be extremely patient and tolerant, and he could be demanding beyond reason."
I wanna see this. I'm glad they went with an unknown actor. The other actor, Nelsan Ellis who plays Bobby Byrd is from True Blood, I'm a fan. He's a Sag too. LOL
