I was wondering something the other day that was mainly sparked by a conversation with my boyfriend.
My father has been in and out of my life since I was a young girl, and my older brother has been the biggest and main male role model in my life. He is a Taurus (a taurus-gemini cusp to be exact) to the core.
My boyfriend, also taurus, said to me that a man knows when to step up when his time has come or when it's completely expected of them. While he was speaking of all men in general, I feel like I've noticed a certain trait among some of the tauruses in my life.
The taurus, in general, is so laid back that he or she really doesn't need to take control, because they usually are in control without having to be so immersed in an ordeal. However, when the time comes, I notice that tauruses can easily take on a leadership role and perfect it. For example, one of my closest girlfriends is a taurus. She's currently the president of our student organization (I'm secretary), and in the beginning, she really had no desire to step up. However, many people were already looking up to her to be president this year, and so when she took it on, she fully took it on. She's always been the type to always be in control anyway, but not with life as a whole. When she needs to be a leader, it's done to a tee. She is hard enough to get the job done, but compassionate enough to understand her subordinates. However, she does not always allow compassion to rule her ways, and she knows when she needs to toss away dead ends.
Not to say that my brother or my boyfriend are like this, but there is something subtle about how they take on roles/their lives in general. As I mentioned, my brother immediately stepped in as a male guardian figure I think without ever having to be told to. He is very laid back and and a softie, but he knows when to be stern and when to reprimand actions and deal out consequences. He has a complete level head on his shoulders. My boyfriend isn't necessarily a leader either, but he stands out without having to have others back him up, and he's responsible for his own actions and honest; he knows his own strengths and weaknesses, and with his strengths, he rises to the occasion every time.

I even see this among some of the tauruses on this board; the same sort of attributes. I quickly researched to see if any world leaders were taus, and not many were, but I noticed many famous artists, authors, journalists, poets, novelists, and so on were tauruses. Only a few were leaders of countries, but on that list included Tony Blair. So I don't know if leader is the correct word; I just discussed leadership in my psychology class, and it's very varied. However, there seems to be a certain quality about tauruses that allows them to be on top without losing their cool.
Those are some very valid observations and I generally agree with most of what you posted especially where you wrote "he knows his own strengths and weaknesses, and with his strengths, he rises to the occasion every time".
We just did a personality study here at work and many of the taureans were either a Coordinating Observer or an Observing Coordinator. Meaning, that when the need arises to take charge, they take it in full stride - take ownership (often with pride) of the role and situation and delegate accordingly. When not in a managerial role, I think we take a back a seat but always are observing and calculating how things can be done more efficiently. But if the role doesn't fulfill some innate purpose or does not compliment our strengths, we usually take a step back and view from the sidelines...

what do you mean natural-born leaders??
we are natural born rulers of this planet. (in chosen males, with the right amount of madness and intensity)
the Taurus sign is considered the morning star,
the apparition of planet Venus at night, aka Luciferian energy.
I have Sun in Taurus, Moon in Capricorn. (half my chart is similar to Hitler, a gift AND a curse)
the guy who had balls to genocide have always been a Taurus.
the only president who drop 2 atomic balls was a Taurus.
the buddha was a Taurus.
Satan himself, IS a Taurus.
do not fvck,
with might of the horns.

Grrr, clearly my quoting abilities have deserted me! I agree w/Cali in that I don't WANT nor NEED to lead a situation; however, when you are in a group (working with a group on a project) and something needs to be done, but you are surrounded by dim witted people who couldn't make a decision if their lives depended on it...well, (most) bulls are going to jump in and take the lead, because we DON'T want to be apart of anything that is half-assed. We'll do others work (not happily, but we'll do it) to ensure the success of the whole. At least that's been my experience, as I've lived it more times than I care to state.
A peculiar type of leaders...
Adolf Hitler = Taurus
Saddam Hussein = taurus
Pol Pot (Look him up if you don't know him) = Taurus
Jim Jones (Look him up if you don't know him) = Taurus
Harry Truman (only pres to use a nuke) = Taurus
Hosni Mubarak (Look him up if you don't know him) = Taurus
Louis Farrakhan = Taurus
Malcom X = Taurus

Word. Almost every taurus I know is naturally good at taking the lead. They are usually my perfect version of what i'd like in a co-worker. I am envious that my bf is in a band with one of the hardest working, most professional tauruses I know. My best friend is right up there with him but I wouldn't wanna work under him. He's very much a perfectionist and a taskmaster to his own detriment.
