Point to you sir not only for attending, but for the purple. 🙂 Practical. Cotton diapers make excellent burp clothes. Onesies are always terrific. Some sweet little newborn socks. Cotton is best for baby. ( When is baby due? Think season appropriate ). A handy bag with a diaper rash and bath arsenal. Or one with simethicone drops, a nasal aspirator, thermometer, wee nail clippers, infant tylenol drops. A basket with Dreft or Ivory Snow laundry items, just for babies things.
Hehehe, so alike you and I. Same reasons for doing it I expect. Better for them, it's actually food ( I tasted baby food, no wonder it got spit out ), and makes transitioning to table easy as all get out. 🙂
Tell me about it Bella, almost a dollar for strained pablum, no thanks. 😉
Stuffed animals are great, but must be careful with those for little ones, no button eyes or other bits they can chew or pull off and choke on. Nothing so big it can fall over Junior's face. 😢
My Taurus Moon/Mars makes me very practical indeed.. and for my baby shower, my MOST fave gift wasn't that expensive... I LOOOVED the stroller and baby swing my Mom & Gram got me, and the car seat my Mom-in-law got... but my next door neighbor totally thrilled me...
It was a Baby Care Package, all done up in a big basket with a bow... baby lotion, shampoo, powder.. hooded baby towels and washcloths... rash cream, A&D ointment... cute duckie diaper pins & rubber pants (I was using cloth diapers), changing pad.... some Baby Tylenol, thermometer, tiny nail clippers, a pacifier.
It was 20 years ago, so I might be forgetting some stuff... but even though she only spent maybe $ 20 or less on it, she clearly put a lot of thought into it. The gift was RIGHT up my alley.. all those "practical" little items that people might forget or not have on hand until it's desperately needed. I've never forgotten it, even if I may have forgotten every single item in the basket!
