The official Celebrity Apprentice thread (2011)

Ok guys, this will be the official thread for this season's CA. You can feel free to post your thoughts after every weekly episode (Every Sunday night on NBC, 9-11pm EST).

I find this show quite fascinating for so many reasons (drama included) and think that tuning in is also a great way to learn professional business tips, tools, etc. "The Donald" might be an ass but no one can deny that the man knows how to do business and most (if not all) candidates definitely walk away having gained better understanding of how business in general, should be conducted.

The first episode aired this past Sunday, March 6th, and I predict this season by far will be the most interesting/explosive due to the heterogeneous "band of characters" that have been cast and the relationship strains/compatibilites due to their astrological influences (I'm already seeing the tension building between the Aries and the Cancers!).

Hey there!

Don't forget "underdog"...GRRR...seriously, if it wasn't for ratings and the 'drama factor', I'm sure Donald would have fired Richard but sadly, firing the tyrant who bullies little people on reality TV is not the popular way to go. *smh*

Richard is definitely out of his league and WILL be fired eventually but I also realize that Donald despises weakness and it is only fair to say that Richard had the stronger personality of the two (out of him and David that is), and if you look at Donald's track record in the boardroom, the 'weak ones' always get the ax first even if they didn't do anything to warrant being fired in the first place.

Trump is a meanie but he's def. got a good 'sense' of people. Never in a million years would he hire someone with David's personality to work for him. At least not for an executive position that called for 'tude and spirit(!). He's a sweet guy and much more of a man than that filthy Richard would ever be, but it was clear that he wasn't making the cut.

I'm going to invite some others to come by and share their thoughts weekly (or whenever), in the thread, because I've got a good ole feeling about this season. LOL.

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!! Nene is a mess! Those folks in the background were laughing their asses off! Star is a strong spirit so methinks she needs to watch her back. I smell jealousy...what are your thoughts PurrHiss?

I was too busy laughing to analyze at first, haha. Although I must say that I've heard several celebrities say that Star Jones is an awful person. It seems like she pisses people off a LOT, and celebs seem to ignore their publicists or managers to point out that they think she's horrible. I'm definitely not jealous of her now, so I can't imagine being jealous of her if I were a celebrity. But what do I know? *shrugs*

Oh I've heard the same. That her uppity attitude can be really off-putting. That's basically what Nene was saying in the clip but I still think that Nene is a bit jealous. Just my take.

For some reason, I'm thinking that Meatloaf and Marlee Matlin will go far in the competition.

You might just be right...about Marlee...LOL...but Meatloaf?...hmmm...maybe I'm underestimating him right now. I also think John Rich (country singer Cappy) is a strong contender.

As a sidenote: Jose Canseco is a true Cancer. He really has that 'sweet' vibe going on and you can tell that he likes to protect others whom he feels are being treated unfairly.

And I have to say that I understand Star's approach, and can also understand why others don't like it. I have an Aries (paternal) grandmother and an Aries (maternal) grandfather who are very much like her in terms of communication. When I was younger, I took offense to their bluntness. Now, I understand it, and actually appreciate it tremendously. I like the fact that they're very "no bullshit" when you talk to them. That's such a rare quality to find in a person, and it's nice to know that what you see is what you get with them. This is actually probably the quality I value the most in a person these days. It's so tiring to deal with all the phonies on a regular basis.

I know but I def. see how compared to a Cancer the Aries bluntness can be irritating. Like your grandma and grandpa, I had an Aries co-worker who was just the same. Straightforward and to the point but she wasn't mean or crude, it was all really innocent, actually.

Haha, I don't know why, but I just have this gut feeling that Meatloaf will do well. I could be totally wrong, though. Marlee seems like a very intelligent woman who can work well with others.

I was thinking the same thing about Jose while I was watching (that he seems like a pretty nice guy), but was disappointed to read that he has a history of domestic violence.

Now who am I to argue against the intuition of a Cancer? Fuck yeah Meatloaf is gonna do well. 😉

I can't wait to see what transpires between Nene and Star. I know star can be a pain in the tuckus but Nene seems like a hater.

Jose Canseco is a sweet guy but the DV tidbit doesn't surprise me in the least. Maybe it was the steroids—

Haha, I'm glad you enjoyed the clip! I was cringing when Dionne Warwick was struggling with the cash register. Icon or not, if you can't run the cash register quickly and efficiently, you need to do something else! The goal was to make the most money and sell the pizza quickly. Even Star didn't want to stand up to her. She should've gone outside to take pictures with people and attract more customers instead of being so stubborn. I would've put Hope in charge of the cashier.

LOL. Dionne played herself. Why in the hell would Star make a call like that? I was so annoyed. She was moving slower than a snail and then had the audacity to get pissy with Star when she told her to try and work a little faster to get the customers out....I was thinking "LIKE WTF? Can somebody please get this geriatric off the cash register STAT!"

Although I'm not a big fan of Lisa, I think it was sad the way that they bullied her into being the PM and then threw her ass under the bus like that....WHOA!!!!

Lisa - poor baby. They railroaded her and she stuck her foot in her mouth one too many times and she was like toast! Hopefully this is a lesson to her and she should probably thank her lucky stars that she got away early 'cause this shit looks like it's gonna get even nastier.

Star - Ok, I still do love her and want her to go all of the way but, she was really showing out yesterday and I found it downright appallling how she sort of demanded to have "written by Star Jones" on the front cover of the book....LIKE WTF!!! Talk about ego!

Dionne - 3 WORDS...HOT.ASS.MESS. Who the F signed her up for this shit?!!!! Oh no, they have to get rid of her bossy, domineering, rude behind and fast! How dare her speak down to Marlee like that! I'm gonna enjoy watching Trump say "Dionne you're..." Uuuggghhh!

Nene - Immature, childish instigator who's gonna get exactly what's coming to her. She's not even half as smart as some of the others on the team and I am going to enjoy watching them marshmellow cream pie out of her. LOL.

Marlee - class act but a tad on the annoying side. Like really now? Stop trying to make the book all about you! I did see the need to incorporate the sign language and it was beautiful, but, the lead character was Latoya. And kudos to you for standing up to Dionne and LOL @ her telling Trump in the boardroom that she didn't know who Dionne was. Classic!

Latoya - WAH, WAH, WAH, WAH....LOL!

Who are the others on the girls's team? Who knows! They're like invisible! Next time speak up ladies!

I agree Dionne should have been fired. She is a horrible old hag of a human being for the shit she spewed. Its a good thing the guys team is likable because the girls team is hard to watch.

It's sad because I felt like I was watching a room full of high school girls instead of grown women. *smh* It made me upset to hear Marlee say that Dionne intimidated her. Vix, I totally agree. OMG, when Star and Dionne were insisting they put their names on the cover, my jaw literally dropped. I mean holy crap, you're a famous singer and worried about getting credit for some fake childrens book that's not even going to be published? And I was LMAO when Dionne snapped at Marlee's translator and he was like, "I'm speaking for Marlee..." HAHAHA! Nene was right when she said "It's hard to fight with a 70-year-old woman because it just don't look right." LMAO!

I think Lisa knew she was going to be fired so she kind of did give up towards the end because she didn't want to deal with "a bunch of bitches", like she said. She probably just thought, "screw it, I'll donate my own money if I can just get the hell outta here". I was disappointed that Marlee was the only one who brought Dionne's shenanigans up in the board room in defense of Lisa. Those other women stayed silent because they're terrified of Star going after them. Even during the challenge, Niki was like, "Star, please don't kill me" before she disagreed with her! Dionne is obviously the weakest link, and her ego & unwillingness to cooperate is out of control. Star's arrogant as hell too, but she's at least more cooperative (even though she's extremely bossy and demanding) and doesn't slow the team down like Dionne does.

Girl I laughed for like three minutes straight after reading this post. You are too cute!

Oh get out of my head! Nene gets on my last nerve (and I'm a Black folk and we usually only got one last good nerve left) but I must admit that she is kinda funny. She had me dying when she was talking about Dionne being 70 and how "it just don't look right". ROFLMAO!!! Nene is a gotdamn fool! I know it's not right but when she was mimicking Marlee and doing the sign language hand movements, I admit that I chuckled a bit because she's just so ridiculous. Marlee's translator is so cute because he's been with her for so long and you can tell that they are truly 'one' and he is just as animated as she is. Yeah, Dionne is gone. I only like Nene in small doses but it's true Vix sometimes you can't help to laugh at what comes out of her mouth. I like the translator too. I like how he uses the tone that Marlee might use when he talks but Dionne annoys me so much if I was him I would've pretended that Marlee went off and called her a psychotic ancient shriveled up prune juice drinking bat creature of the night when Trump asked why she should be fired. He (translator) even looked pissed for Marlee when he told Dionne he's speaking for her and to talk to her.

Purr I was wondering what was up with Meatloaf because I've never seen a libra like that.

Who do you guys think will make it to the end?

I'm thinking for the women Star and Marlee and for the guys the cowboy maybe Mark because he kind of gets along with everyone and at the same time I saw him trying to keep the task going at the costume shop. So he might be good as a Proj.M. I kind've think Meatloaf too because he's emotional enough for ratings with the fighting (coming up with busey) and crying but he's still competent for work.

I'm pretty sure Niki and the other mute will be out soon enough because they are too boring.

I was looking up some of the celebrities' moon/rising signs (Virgo rising here, so I can't help it!) and found some interesting stuff. Star Jones has a Scorpio moon and Cancer rising, so no wonder she's so cutthroat and passionate. Meat Loaf has a Pisces moon and Pisces rising as well, which explains the extreme sensitivity, weepiness, and caring so much about his charity. Dionne Warwick has Taurus moon and and rising (explaining her extreme stubbornness and talent for singing). Lisa Rinna has moon in Pisces (with her Cancer Sun, that can explain her sensitivity and reluctance to take a leadership role and stand up for herself). Lil Jon has an Aquarius sun and Moon, and he's been very "go with the flow" so far, which is pretty typical of double Aquarians (unless someone really angers them). Jose Canseco has Moon in Aries, which would explain his "tell it like it is" attitude and hotheaded nature (at least compared to the average Cancer).

This is good stuff! Our moon and rising signs say so much about us and your assessment of each person is dead on. I didn't realize that Meatloaf was such a big cry baby...and now I know why! LOL. He's sweet though.

Jose won't go far. He doesn't strike me as very smart and his temper (hot head as you say) may just be the thing to get him in trouble, but then again, maybe not.

My take on the boys:

John Rich - A serious contender. One to watch out for and possibly the last man standing. He strikes me as smart, saavy, tough, respectful, and can bring in top dollars.

Lil John - So far he's gives off a very cool vibe. Cooperative, pretty level-headed, can bring in a decent amount of donations (as we've seen on episode 1), but not sure about his management skills. He's an Aqua however, and a pretty successful and talented artist, so he might just surprise us. Methinks he's actually got a bit of a brain under all of those dreads and those silly big AZZ glasses!

Jose Canseco - Sigh....aaaahhh...errr...helpful...uummm...stiff...err...not really sure of what he can do yet. We'll just have to wait and see! LOL! LOL! LOL! LOL!

Meatloaf - Sweetheart and seems like a fairly nice guy, and can def. lead a team. I won't sleep on Meatloaf but, can Trump really see himself hiring someone of his type? Just wondering WTH Busey is going to do to make him so upset? Busey? Busey seems so cool...I could see if it was ole stoopid azz Richard, lol, but not Busey...Busey—

Mark McGrath - Sweetheart! Nice fellow that has yet to show what he can do. Likeable, cooperative and creative (sort of like the Brett Michaels of this season). I think he'll do well too. He's been under the radar so can't really tell until he becomes a PM.

Richard - All of a sudden, he's playing nice! Mofoer knows he's gonna have to take a backseat and keep that trap shut for a bit if he wants stick around. Yes! Yes! Granted, he is a strong contender but it doesn't really matter when at the end of the day you're nothing but a snake anyway. *hiss, hiss* Trump will NEVER hire him. Enjoy it while it lasts Richard!!!

Busey...I'll repeat what I said with Dionne...3 words...HOT.ASS.MESS. Difference? At least he's a nice & kind HAM instead of a mean & egotistical one. BUSEY FOR PRESIDENT!

Yes, the translator is adorable. He looks feisty too, like if he had to, he would cap somebody in the eye if they messed with Marlee. LOL. Yeah, they said they picked him to be "Mrs. Canseco" (lol) because he's the biggest. I'm not sure whose idea it was, but I'm guessing Meatloaf made that call, because he said he was freaking out when he realized the turning point in their story relied on Jose remembering the words, lol.

It was so funny when the guys were watching the girls in the board room on TV. Trump said something like "be yourself wasn't the best idea for these kids", and Lil Jon yelled, "HELL NO. They don't even know who the fuck they are yet!" at the TV, LMAO!

Oh so that's how that shit came about? Well! Well! Next time they need to give him a task that does NOT include talking. LOL.

Oh Joh Rich has definitely got it and you can tell that he don't take crap from anyone (that's real country boy right thur).

Real talk: In reference to Lisa, there is a way to 'fight' without coming over as a complete bitch and letting someone drag you in the mud...sadly, it's an art that many of us have to learn. She should have stuck with Dionne and her 'theme' and reminded Trump over and over again that that was one of the reasons why they lost the task. Period.

When Trump asked her "why would you fire Dionne?" and she responded "because she's not a team player", I knew it was over. She was just going from here to there when she should have picked one argument and stuck with it. Sigh.

Vix, I definitely understood the meaning of shy when I was 5. 4, I'm not quite sure. I remember being very shy on my first day of Kindergarten, when I was 5. I think there's a big difference between 4 and 5 in terms of brain development, though, so it could go either way.

Dreamer and Vix, what happened was Dionne said that she thought that teaching kids sign language and bringing up the fact that Marlee is deaf would depress the kids and make them feel sorry for Marlee. Lisa then asked, "Why, do you think Marlee is sad?" Marlee said that she wasn't sad and didn't expect pity from anyone. Then Dionne said something to the effect of "YOU'RE not sad, but THEY will be" (upon learning about Marlee's deafness). She then said that she thought the story should be happy and not something that will make them "feel sorry for her" (referring to Marlee). She also said that those kids were too young to learn about "that type of diversity". That's why Marlee got angry. Hopefully that cleared some things up!

Thanks for clearing that up, PurrH. I understand what she means about the kids possibly getting sad but it's all in the presentation. The stories were supposed to be redemptive so the kids would come out feeling good about it in the end. If the storyline was somewhat along the lines of accepting diversity, being yourself, and believing you can do anything, why the F would the kids feel sad?

Your assessments are always right on target. Dionne done fucked up when she acted out with the story book project and in my opinion, Marlee got it in for her ass. She ain't letting that shit go and you are right about the logic because she's gonna use it to the best of her ability to get Dionne the fizuck out of there. I give her about 2 more weeks or so.

Funny how Gary didn't really have a plan but I knew that he wasn't necessarily the 'organized' type, but rather more of the fluid and 'fly the seat of your pants' type of guy.

After seeing each presentation, I knew right away that the guys beat the girls by a long shot because they made it more of an interactive experience and the greenery really helped to set the tone.
