What placements do you guys think gives a person more artistic ability?

I've found quite a few placements in my natal chart that includes artistic talent when I was reading the descriptions for each.

It's based on my experience, so here is still room to discuss.

Artistic ability can be divided as two parts, one is creativity, another one is profession. More water and fire placements mean you're more creative, and profession is decided by earth sign. Air sign is like in-between. Usually, people who work in anything associated with art have Sun or Moon in fire, water or air signs. If you want me to list the most creative one, it shall be water placements, then air and fire.

Well OP I've 6 water signs in my chart; 2 Fire + Leo rising & 2 earth with a Libra Node.
My WHOLE life is one huge create-a-thon 🙂 I create for a living, teach my art and experiment/play in my spare time ..... in fact its hard to know where the play stops and the work begins somedays. Not trained as a teacher but it just pours out of me and I just seem to be able to take in knowledge and then impart it in away that fosters the ability to express. You learn a lot about yourself when you have to impart your passion.
Its been at times a tenuous life but in recent years I've had accolades that have blown me away and made me truly believe that its all worth it.
OP I love the passage below by Eric Fromm and it epitomised the hard work I put in in those early days believing that if you did something so often that eventually the essence of the 'thing' became ingrained within. THEn the fun truly began ........ I was able to express clearly my internal language.

The process of learning an art can be divided conveniently into two parts: one, the mastery of the theory; the other, the mastery of the practice. If I want to learn the art of medicine, I must first know the facts about the human body, and about various diseases. When I have all this theoretical knowledge, I am by no means competent in the art of medicine. I shall become a master in this art only after a great deal of practice, until eventually the results of my theoretical knowledge and the results of my practice are blended into one -- my intuition, the essence of the mastery of any art.

I went to art school and checked my friends' astrology placements for research, haha. That's what I found but this is all personal observation on 40 people or so. It's going to be all over the place so I apologise.

Sagittarius placements are REALLY good for advertising and funny original ideas. Gemini are really good in typography and always have the wittiest catchphrases.

Pisces is really artistic, especially music and fine arts. The ones I know are dancers, visual artists and musicians but all really inconsistent and gave up on art school.
The Librans I know enjoy art but aren't very skilled in it but I generally find people with air placements' art generally bland or lacking substance.
The Capricorns I know have Pisces moon in them, none made it to the end of their school years but they worked really hard.
Leos can be aesthetically average but still be able to sell it.
Cancers REALLY like photography and poetic sceneries. We often go on urban explorations together and I lead the way but they're the ones taking the pictures and they can create an entire story out of those. They like to dab into music stuff too.
Taurus are just really pretty people in general, physically and artistically. They're lazy but their art is awesome and a couple of them are good singers.
Virgos aren't that great but they work hard and their illustrations are snarkily funny.
Aquarians are actors or out-of-the-box thinkers but usually downright hipsters so don't tell them their work looks like that one of another dude, lol.
I don't actually know many Aries? Probably like one, and she's always super hyped and enthusiast, not really artistically talented though.
I only know two Scorpios but they're mostly Libra or Sagittarius so I put them in that category. I'm the heaviest Scorpio chart among them so what I could attribute to Scorpio would be great sensitivity and intensity in fine arts.

Again this is all personal observations and not just for the sun signs, my gemini rising makes me scattered in every fields and good with typography but all my scorpio placements make me prefer hand-drawing and painting as a stress-relief, etc.

Aries- I knew only two, one Aries and he ended up not passing the midway art review and had to change majors. The other one was beyond amazingly talented, but lacking in the creative thought process that makes you able to grow and develop as a artist.
Taurus- I do agree about the hint of laziness surrounding the work, it would be good for last minute work but still last minute which limited them.Work is good generally but they had a similar issue as Aries but less aggressive about it.
Gemini- Not many Gem Artist I remember.
Cancer- Nice homey sweet work, they also lots of hard work and passion they tended to be dogmatic on the actual creative thought process, but had the go self starter attitude to make art work as a business for them.
Leo- They were often the biggest and most ambitious creativity. They were often pretty talented, whether they continued to do it would probably have been based on if they found someone else to market their creative skill.
Virgo- Most of the artists at my school were Virgo's, That perfectionism contributed to their technique, they were often the most skilled artists, so much so it made up for possible lack of raw creativity. Want a perfect portrait of your kid/dog/your ego get a Virgo artist to do it.
Libras- They were the biggest appreciators of art, but usually the least skilled. Nobody minded thought because they have such great attitudes so they were just pleasant to have around.
Scorpio- Hard Workers overall, they usually quietly made their art and went on their merry way. Skill wise they were generally good because they were passionate and cared.
Sagittarius- Similar to Leo, pretty creative accept Sag's tended to be more out of the box with it. Tbh, they could blow my mind with how they applied their creativity. I learned very much from them.
Capricorn- Caps tended to struggle in the "art fart" environment, Not due to laziness but generally not understanding the abstract concepts of art theory. If they were fortunate enough to have skill and technique some would get by, Others changed majors.
Aquarius- Same camp as Libra as being great appreciators of art, and having a decent amount of skill at it. Though they might be a bit dry in the creative department.
Pisces - Usually innately talented, but had a hard time with all the structure and discipline a lucrative art career requires. Most graduated, but I doubt most of us meeting our full potential.

It's hard when you're creative but don't have artistic ability..n it's worse when you're a perfectionist ?

@freeloader Do you ever find art draining??

It's extremely draining precisely because of perfectionism

It can also get boring after a (short) while.

True. It also gets boring. But is also addictive ..like you can't leave it halfway n then you feel effed!

I've always wondered if it's possible for someone to put their soul into it n enjoy doing it rather than feel drained.

I leave almost everything halfway done

Though I've only once poured my feels into something that falls under the category of "art". It was storytelling. I didnt feel drained after, rather, I was relieved. Never doing it again tho

I think we always feel relieved n happpy once it's over. The journey is not exactly a pleasant one. Maybe that's the reason you don't wanna do it again or is it something else?

I just don't like being emotional that's why

Low tolerance for emotional intensity. Emotions are overwhelming
