Ive not been istanbul, but cappadocia. Turkey in general is amazing. I would not travel on my own as a woman though. And the cats that roam are similar to the dogs that roam, their wildlife not pets. Be careful of being ripped off in Istanbul because they will try fleece you of your money, but You'll have an amazing time none the less

Been there several years ago. The Grand Bazaar, a huge covered and very old market, was amazing. Paid a visit to the Hagia Sophia, which was a museum back then, and which truly breathes history; once having been the church in which the Byzantine emperors were crowned. Also a resident showed me an old Christian church from the Middle Ages, which was quite hidden and could only be accessed through the room of another building. It’s an interesting city for sure.

Few years ago. It was really wonderful time and would love to go again asap. In fact I had planned a trip again but COVID and other life situations interfered. There's a lot more left to explore for me 😊 it's wonderful in spring time but can be quite cold too in case you're planning to go soon
