I'm heading to Portugal in 2008. I'm also thinking of visiting each of the Azores Islands (9 of them) during my time there. Has anyone ever been and care to share their experience? There are some things I'm looking forward to like boarding with a random old couple in Flores and waking up to a homemade Portuguese breakfast. I'm hoping it'll be a very humbling experience for me to see the landscape, cities, and people. Not going to a resort or anything, I really want to drift, trek around seeing sights, meeting strangers, and taking pictures.

i think the biggest change since last time I was home is that I won't look twice when someone opens a bottle of vodka up in front of me and offers me some...i might even take it.
