Traveling buddies?

So I'm trying to go on a trip to Southeast Asia. I want to visit the Philippines and Thailand. But, I don't have anyone to travel with. My bf can't go because of his work and I don't want to push back my traveling. Plus if I did push back the traveling to wait for my bf, his job wouldn't give him more than 4 vacation days... ????
Most of my friends are scared of the places I want to visit (I have no idea why), but do anyone have any suggestions on where I could find traveling buddies or something along those lines?
