for me..

there is this one site..which allows a quite good level of anonymity (one always can track & hack down a user or users if s/he wants..)..also which I frequent

on that site,

#1) one can create an account and also a user name..be it unique or whatever

#2) or create an account and again give oneself a user name..but one that adopted by the majority of users on the site (like 99 per cent of the site uses have that certain kind of user name... let me call it 'dumbdumb')

#3) ..or do not even crate an account..but join..with somewhat unique user name

#4) ..or again, without and account..and post up anything under that very common user name, i.e., 'dumbdumb'

when I first stumbled on the site..being a n00b and not familiar with it, I approached with the #1

then soon after switched to #4 .. because, well.. I am a lazy ass and do not want to log in on the site every single time.. even though I can leave/set myself logged on for a certain period time.. sometimes I get logged out for no reasons lol (computers always do that to people lol you thought you were signed on automatically but then you were not..lol)

the change there (from #1 to #4) did not make any changes in my posts I have created ever since.. I went about the same.. like here, I pop up and leave some silly threads..and gone..just to come back later.. lol

said site has somewhat its weird? unique? ..purification(??)/or ostracizing(??) system.. which, one user tries to be somewhat like a queen bee.. or someone being an attention whore.. the other users of the site accuse of that certain user
the site even has a certain style of writing format..which is adopted by the most users there

and again, if one

(well, sometimes this one is a newb, or other times semi-newb..who were not able to observe that purification/or outcasting rule on the site - since there's no notice or admin or whoever says and declares..any rules ..but then this is quite tricky, because even those rules are not written.. they still exist.. in the form of acquiescence.. it's like those soft laws against hard laws .. thus this site has very unique governing system .. sometimes it seems very open and democratic, other times very totalitarian and oppressive ..

or this one sometimes is an oldie but who wants some attentions or some sort of fame accredited to his/or her user name/or site user identity)

tries to be a queen bee or whatever along that line..then the one gets ostracized from the community.. other users bring whatever said one said, wrote on the site to gain fame or attention under the public display - they have these two separate boards.. one people can post up stuff..and if any post gets lots of thumbs ups, then that post goes to the another board..and of course, most view counts are on the second board - ..that said user being put up on the second board (involuntarily) and lots of verbal assaults are bound to that person.. like public shaming of the one

then (usually) the shamed one disappears from the site..
and I wrote 'usually'.. guess probably lots of just come back with a brand new, clean slate identity..another time

it's quite interesting to observe how the site or its system works..

the feelings & thoughts I have been getting from said site from time period I have been there:

1) like written above, the site feels open and democratic (the same power & right to speak one's mind)
but at the same time, it feels also oppressive, insular and even totalitarian (by not allowing certain trespass or crossing lines .. and the method how users there public shame and ostracize one member)

2) its system is meant to work on the unconscious level (by the fact that there's no explicitly written rules .. soft laws, not hard laws), however, at the very same time, people there are aware of those uncoded rules alo

ng with the system of course .. it is like there is this thing...something like super ego..or even the Other .. unspoken rules, but we are all aware of them somehow, but still do not speak about them out aloud .. they all still interfere, affect and being a governing part over ourselves ..those unspoken rules are harsh and ruthless..none gets to escape

3) people there, by purifying(?) or ostracizing(?) one of their members..keeps the place(site) status quo.. never allows any kinds of changes

4) it is supposed to be there is no one who gets all the credits and sits in the middle of the fame hall.. no one above or underneath another, that is the motto of the site.. however, there is something above other there.. hierarchy exists..in a very concealed form or on the subconscious level
probably mass against one (who gets public shaming)

5) sometimes one who gets public shaming appears to be a scapegoat or just being victimized.. there is this strong feeling that said one gets ostracized..to keep an order of the site (a pretense or what it seems to be outside) ..but probably more to release some kinds of tensions that have been accumulated over periods of time

6) those tensions, once get released and the site cleansed..in time gets restored up..thus the cycle repeats itself

7) why this happens at all? how the unspoken codes were created at first place? do they exist because people truly think that everyone should be equal on the site? or is there something more? human psyche?

and there should be more..probably..but I'm getting tired..lol
gosh..what's wrong with me..with all these ramblings of mine..

I need to get out more lol
and I am going to, since it's weekend already .. I'm going to a concert this evening & movie night out tomorrow with friends lol

8) does that, me opting #4 regarding the choice of a user name, approve the site system ..and that hidden hierarchy, the Other, super ego.. in a passive way? being a conformist?

9) how to deal with the unseen pressures from that unspoken rules, the Other, super ego thing..or whatever..? should one resist them? fight against them? or accept them? forming one's identity in one society, community.. how does it happen? how choices are made? are those choices totally free from any outside variants and such?

10) if one believes that the choices are made without any outer interferences.. how can it be proved?

As I have no shame (well . . . none that I will admit to publicly), it's difficult to see how I would function in such a paradigm. Unless it is totally dysfunctional. Which it seems to be.

sometimes those shames are made, not stemmed from one (..it seems so..) thus I put the word victimizing or similar to that..somewhere up there

the site looks dysfunctional..yet it functions..yes, probably it does in its dysfunctional way..(—_—)
