Is the possibility of relationship doomed?

I've reasoned with people before and they now are quite interested in astrology. I've just never met anyone that had such a bias around it that they refuse to even talk about it.
I have a lot of water in my chart, specifically 5 planets plus my part of fortune, all in scorpio in the third house, I tend to tear up in conversations which I've always connected tothe placements in my natal chart, but he thinks my emotions can be fixed by a good therapist. I don't have the income to waste on a therapist who will just want to numb me out with medications....and I have come to accept my emotions, so it is quite frustrating to have to defend who I am, and explain why "being emotional" is part of my nature....if someone presumes we are all the same. Is it just me or is it reverse logic for someone to reason against being categorized as one of 12 signs...but then turns around and says we are all the same?
Say wha? Help.
