Anima and Animus

I've been thinking about What Branh has been saying about how 'virgos aren't feminine' and I have found a theory that is based off of the psychologist CARL JUNG that provides evidence proving that Virgo could possibly be a masculine sign.....now here it all is...

Carl Jung, a influential figure in neo/post-freudian psych theory is responsible for discovering/coining the terms 'Anima' and 'Animus' to the unconscious mind of the human male, and females....now, as far as psychoanalysis goes, the most powerful, and determining forces of the human personality lies in the unconcious: for the male, that would be the anima, the feminine, unconsious part of his psyche that is responsible for feelings of empathy, nurturance, love, and all forms of femininity, and passivity, for the female, it is the animus, the warring, masculine, dominant driving force of her psyche....

Now if this concept we're to be applied to the zodiac, in two signs SPECIFICALLY Virgo and Scorpio....

Virgo is glyphically represented as the 'female genitals' but despite the signs representation of femininity, the female components of the sign are subdued and the mind is usually the driving force/component of the Virgoan personality with feelings a close second....Now Scorpio is driven PRIMARILY by feelings, and a lack of objectivity which is primarily a 'feminine' principle becuase what is considered 'woman' is primarily driven by feelings without much use or even understanding of objectivity...

Now both signs are typified as 'introverted' and thus the examination of the unconsious is the ONLY way to really see who infact is 'MAN' and 'WOMAN'....

Now, in you're OWN opinion based upon this theory (if it sounds sensible to you) who in fact is which— I have my own opinions, but yours are welcome as well...

Because they are introverted, and scorpio gives off a more 'impressively' male BRAVADO because it is co-ruled by mars, it esentially is the embodiment of the female personality at work with the animus (mars) at the forefront of it, it can be said Virgo is straightforwardly male, becuase of the rational, detatched temperment it possesses, making the anima present within, but not expressed.....Scorpio is a water sign and is driven by feelings, and can't stand anything cold, or rational....So, Scorpio could be represented by the female genitals becuase of this....

Besides, we don't even know what planet TRULY rules Virgo anyway, so the very nature of Virgo exists in the abstract.....so much is remains unknown about Virgo that speculation is all we've got....

Sure Keva, being a HUMAN sign it would be androgynous, like aquarius and gemini(appearing as man, or woman)....it could be looked upon as feminine or masculine in APPEARANCE, but BEHAVIOR/PERSONALITY is a different matter, which is why I called focus to the unconsious as that is the origin of gender manerisms, and behavior....

I've just explained that becuase of the rational mind that is employed by Virgo, that makes it more 'cerebral' and even gets the rep of being 'detatched' from it's feelings...does this not make it reminiscent of the wind signs— It is more active in the way that they are

ANYWAY, AS FAR AS CARL JUNG, I AM IN THAT FIELD AND I CAN TELL YOU ALL ABOUT CARL JUNG. IN FACT, he WAS A psychologists that was obssessed with his theory of archetypes. Research some refereed professional journals, not just google and find out. I think that if you want to talk about virgo's than do so, but leave Scorpios out of it, in fact, virgoexalted, if you're having trouble getting over your childhood trauma , why don't you seek counseling and stop putting Scorpios down, in fact, forget about us, don't even seek our inner deepness any longer, and do not use us a standard to judge yourselves against. Just leave us be. Why are you comparing both signs in your posts?

I think virgoexalted is once again, manipulating the truth, he is not head on and tends to have something to prove. He needs to feel smart , that is why he over intellectualizes every damn thang. He needs to prove he is smart. Also, Scorpio is the sign of the gentials not Virgo. Virgo is the sign of virgin and is represented by a woman, i think they control the stomach. This sign does lack feminine characteristics,and in my idea , the most feminine sign of the zodiac. Which means that the men, are yes of course intuned with their feminine sides. They are the most intuned out of all the zodiac men. What's so wrong with that? In denial huh?
Also Scorpios could never be subjective because it is sign that digs beneath the surface, sorry but your analysis is subjective and bias and merely based off of your experiences , which is a " projection" a psychological defense mechanism, since you like to read , look it up, it's Freudian, lol Scorpios are not guided by feelings, it's emotion and it's not just emotion alone , it's everything. All things, but in the end, we are psychic and we know it all, lol.... We have traits of all sign , bringing it all end and being the mothers of all signs... I don't know why that's so hard to admit to...

Anyway, virgexalted, i think you need to do some more research and read up about the Scorpios, and not just base your "OPINIONS" key word , opinion off of your experiences. and you should stop flipping the truth, and manipulating like your fellow opposite , pisces do and just admit that you are in denial. Yes, virgo men are very feminine, and analytical ,they are highly verbal and overly intuned with their emotions, which are feminine traits. They are hella feminine. The best of both worlds if you attract one. I like it because, they are kind of moral and know better. They also understand their feelings quite well, unlike most men, however, it's annoying because they can be argumentative, bossy, manipulative, fussy, feminine and play mind games, and they like to argue with women and in my idea, that is bitchy! you never argue with a woman, i don't give a damn what your sign is!

anyway, my point is that I feel the virgo represents the male genitals, and scorpio the females.....feminine experience is more geared towards 'internal/intuitive' experience, which is why I don't understand why it is the likeness to the male genitalia....but it is only the glyph, I feel that based on this theory, Virgo's nature should be more carefully analyzed....

(the anima and animus are the feminine and masculine archetypes that Jung is most renowned for chi...😉 thought you could benefit from that, but then I'm sure you knew that hun 🙂)

I would have to agree with this, and not just for Virgo's, rather, everybody. It's unclear to me, though, why exactly there seems to be a concern about Virgo being a feminine sign ... as much focus that is put into this, is suggesting that a threat, or challenge lies with identifying sexuality. Like a Machoism.

Does it really matter what anybody else thinks or belives? Why feel compelled to drive a point that Virgo's are NOT feminine? This only makes the suggestion in the mind that there is guilt associated because only the guilty need a defense.

Anyway, that ^^^ was just my wondering "why".

This is true, Keva .. we have been conditioned to percieve gender roles in certain terms. What I find absolutely brilliant is that we are finally at an age in our evolution where we are questioning these programs, for real. Over the years, people have made mention here and there, and people threw all validity out of the window, and continued to reiterate the importance of gender roles. FINALLY, we have opened our eyes enough now to pull up these ponderings, such as Jung, and others ... and allow ourselves the opportunity to find truth.

I do have to reference the above with a comment ... VE, when you said this you were talking about Virgo's specifically, obviously .. however, I believe that a planet is missing for all of us. Inbetween Mars and Jupiter, where the Astroid Belt lies, there once was a planet. The Astroid Belt is the remains, broken pieces of this planet that still orbits .. scattered.

When I look at people, all people .. we are controlled, we are structured, we have this abundance of intelligence, and drive, we are just fucking amazing we are so smart and incrediable as a species, yet ........... we are scattered, chaos, confused.

Sometimes, just the simple things baffle us, or if our hearts are invested in something we can behave like total fools.

It is my belief that the broken Planet Tiamat is our primary emotional planet, and not the moon or venus (which are secondary to Tiamat) .. and because of her/him being broken, so are we emotionally and that's why we struggle so often with emotional composure.
