Are you shy?

How common is this for you guys? If you consider yourself a shy person, would you say it is something that is hard for you to overcome? If so, how do you do it? For instance, if you were told you had to stand up in front of a group of people the next day to share something, would you lose sleep over it?

I don't know, I'm usually regarded as very reserved so people are sometimes surprised when some blunt, funny or even obnoxious comment escapes me lol
I was always regarded as shy by my teachers when I was younger, except for one who corrected my mom when she said that I was timid... he said that I wasn't timid, just reserved.
Like Branh said, I also feel shy in certain situations but it won't stop me from doing what I feel that I need to do. Usually the ppl I work with regard me as very calm... I hear those comments allllll the time. People would always comment on how reserved and calm I was to my boss and he'd say 'Oh yeah, she never gets mad... she's very cool, calm and collected' He would always say that! His dad would say that too. I think he said that because I never acted any differently with his 'changing!' moods lol
Someone made a comment like that the other day and my co'worker said that nothing ever stressed me out and that I was the one that kept them SANE! Lol Specially her, she really likes me because she's got an AWFUL temperament... I've noticed that when something happens she looks to see my reaction first and when I don't react to it, she realizes that it's not really that bad.
Shyness, depends to what extent. I know this older man who is just PAINFULLY shy, so much so that it makes ME uncomfortable. His gaze is always towards the floor and his hands shake when he hands you something. It's really aweful... man I know I can be shy myself but not to such an extent.
For example I feel shy when guys approach me infront of others, in an obvious manner. Like complimenting too much or asking for my number straight out... and other ppl are just like 'okayyy' Ahhhhhhh! Depending upon the situation and worse even, if I feel attracted to them... I know my face has turned pink! I remember one guy making me so nervous that I kept dropping stuff, how mortifying! It was because I felt like this lady who was there suspected that I liked him and kept making little comments... My face was so hot!

tauruschic, you have that sexy scorpy rising which brings out the reserve. Reserve is more of a "wait and see thing" then shyness. Reserved people watch for the right time and shy people wish people would just stop watching THEM, lol! I agree with your teacher.

well, hmmm, good question. I'd like to begin by saying that shyness is not predicted by star sign; it is by your environment. I am reserved at times becuase I like to see, and experience my surroundings, with my heightened senses, and I have been hurt quite alot be people, not becuase I was gullible, but becuase I know such is life, and I was ALLLWAYS aware of that "ugliness" in people; the imperfection virgo speaks of re-writting through her perfectionism; it is hate, the thing that would make a person take another, or their own life, and since we are afraid to uncork our intensity, it turns inward, and becomes reluctant shyness.

I like shy people, and when I see one I just really start to shine, becuase of my Cancer moon probably; I just like making people feel comfortable, and happy. I like people to feel they can tell me anything, and they usually do, so shy people are ok, YOU just have to try and do YOUR part to show them the way...they'll blossom soon enough; as a Virgo, I know this to be FACT!!.

That depends, when you speak about this, Virgo/Cancer combo. Becuase I'm not lying, I really like to talk to people whom are shy, and becuase of my Cancer moon, can empathize with that shyness;as a Virgo I want to change this world, and make it comfortable to be in, I don't allow shyness to assuage me, or dictate me, and when you stop holding on to something that hides the true you, you see WHO YOU REALLY ARE. I've had people telling me all the time what I am, and what I'm not...you cannot judge that which you aren't prepared to ascess.

Im not shy at all but still you do get a lil' nervous when you are asked to speak to a congregation of like 200 people...On numerous occasions i was asked to speak infront of like 100- 200 people... and believe me even though im not a shy person you do get waaaaaaay excited but i took some public speakin' classes and its VERY easy to full the audience and itz funny how after you speech people come to you and say ' your an awesome public speaker'.... LOL...but ya im the kind of person who has memorize my talk or else i mess it up and it goes off topic.... ....

Like, during a recent snuggle session, she asks: "Dy, are my breasts too small?" Now, I ask you, how the hell does ANY GUY see that one coming?? And, how does the poor schlep respond?? Thank God! All I'm sayin' is I believe HEAVILY in myself. There is a STRONG purpose, and reason for my being a Virgo, for my being here on this planet; how foolish, and frivolous would it be to simply be shy, and basically out of tune with life?. Yes, I am shy, but I REFUSE TO HIDE MYSELF IN A COWARDLY FASHION; WITH MY CONVICTIONS, AND DESIRES, I WILL CHANGE THE WORLD; I REFUSE TO STAND BY, AND ALLOW IT TO BE STAGGNATE ON ACCOUNT THAT I HAPPEN TO BE SHY; THERE IS MORE TO VIRGO THAN THAT. I will get the most out of my life, and won't allow stupid shyness to ruin it; a real virgo will work with it, and OWN it not, LET IT OWN THEM...
