Beautiful doesn't mean perfect

The thread made by the female Leo that addresses losing weight for sake of how one looks, inspired this thread. It doesn't matter what a person looks like ... beauty goes so far beyond skin level, and it just boggles my mind that there are - STILL - so many people still surviving in their infancy of humanity, in that all of their life force is driven by surface bullshit.

Sometimes, I just can't wrap my head around the fact that (so many) people can't get past superficiality and actually strive to honor standards built on such shallow surfaces.

Who cares if you don't look or have the same, or as much, as another? And if someone cares, then they shouldn't matter in your life.

Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter, and those who matter don't mind. ~ Dr. Seuss, March 2,1904

Not only looking in a mirror, I might add. The biggest danger is relying on other people to figure out your self worth. Growing up, my mother constantly emphasized how ugly and not like her I was. She was a beautiful woman on the outside and a brilliant mathematician but on the inside she was always plagues with different neuroses which ultimately led to her mental condition deteriorating each year.

I remember when I was young I could never understand what "ugly" meant in reference to a person. I used to see people as kind or unkind..or judge them on how interesting or intelligent they seemed, which was a mistake in itself.

I suppose this is in reference to me and my creation of the Biggest Loser contest on here.

To clarify, the contest was born out of desperation. It had very little to do with looks. My company's insurance plan is switching next year. The more the health issues you have the more you pay. I did not want to wait on a diagnosis. I am desperate to lose weight and I find that I achieve my goals when I feel I am competing against someone else. I am a fire sign.

On another, note , who cares why you want to lose weight...a man, vanity, self esteem...whatever...as my doctor said "Just get the weight off otherwise expect to die before you probably should"

Let's keep it real...looks do matter. While there are probably people who could not care less about looks the vast majority of the population does. Read the posts on here, look at the comments , look at the pictures people post of their celebrity crush. Not an obese babe (or man for that matter) in the bunch. How many times have we all looked at an overweight person and thought they are lazy, disgusting, ignorant?

Just so we are clear I am absolutely, undeniably, beautiful...with or without the extra pounds. I am a Leo woman..so how I look will always be important to me. It is not however, the most important thing to me.

In any event, any encouraging words you have to offer are most certainly welcomed.

I did, a couple times, in fact ... which I guess you didn't notice because you were too busy judging books by their covers.

Yup, I judge people and you do to. Everyone judges.

I can not count how many times I have seen you go in on a person based simply on a few typed words. Calling them names and insulting their character. Are you not judging? This whole thread is about you judging my thread. Oh the irony.

I do look at overweight people from time to time and think OMG please don't let that happen to me. Yes I do.

I also look at people in wheelchairs who have had their legs amputated from diabetes and say God, please don't let that happen to me.

If you want to assume you know me or my prejudices based on 2 or 3 sentences then ...hey find joy where you can.

I don't do E-beefs.

Take care P
