Can u be romantic with a virgo or will it scare

So I'm a Capricorn and my virgo and I have been friends for 2 yrs now. I really like him, he knows this. He likes me, I know it.

I've realized that sometimes when the both of us disclose our feelings for each other, we pull away. Mainly him. But I do too because I've read that Virgos don't like when you're clingy or when you show too much emotion. In my past relationships I've been this sweet girl who writes poems for the guys I like. And I've done this before with my virgo but I haven't done it in a while. He has also told me he's not the relationship type of guy, which I can see because he is girl crazy and I've accepted that about him so we remain really good friends. It sucks because I like him so much and I wish I can express it more but I don't want to scare him off. And I don't want to get hurt by doing so....

Is it okay to be romantic with them? How should one go about expressing themselves to a virgo without scaring them away? I mean..it's been long enough so he shouldn't be too afraid right?

As long as he says "he's not the relationship type" believe him and keep that friend zone going. Do you want to lose him forever? Think about it. Is it worth ruining a good thing?

You're right, I wouldn't want to ruin our friendship. Bc I value that more than anything. It just hurts to not be able to tell him how I feel. I can only hold so much in for so long.
